DIREZIONE GENERALE
Il terremoto che ha colpito, all’alba del 24 agosto, zone del Lazio, delle Marche, degli Abruzzi e dell’Umbria con gravissimi danni alle persone e alle strutture, ci ha lasciati pieni di dolore. Forse nelle zone colpite ci sono anche parenti, amici, benefattori di nostri confratelli. Assicuriamo la nostra vicinanza e preghiera per le persone colpite dal sisma. (La Direzione Generale).
BURUNDI
Grande commozione e riconoscenza durante la celebrazione, sabato 20 agosto, del 25° anniver-sario dalla fondazione della Parrocchia di Buyen-gero. Era il 1991. Quattro anni dopo P. Maule con C. Gubert e A. Marchiol venivano assassinati nella casa da loro costruita.
Una folla immensa, decine di sacerdoti e vecchi collaboratori dei confratelli hanno assistito alla cerimonia presieduta dal Vicario Generale della diocesi di Bururi e dal Superiore Regionale.
LAICI SAVERIANI
I laici saveriani hanno tenuto l’annuale assemblea estiva a Marina di Serra Tricase (LE) dal 15 al 21 agosto ’16. Erano circa una ottantina di cui 4 padri, una saveriana e 44 adulti provenienti dai gruppi di Salerno, Desio, Parma, Ancona. Il Salento ha fatto da splendida cornice ai lavori dell’assemblea che tra l’altro ha eletto il nuovo consiglio per il prossimo triennio.
GIAPPONE
Il Bonzo Kawahara Shodou della setta zen del Soto-Shu che vive a Kikuchi nel tempio Gyokusho, ha dato a P. Moioli (di cui è molto amico) una offerta per i terremotati in Italia di circa 850 euro (cifra corrispondente alle offerte ricevute al tempio in questo ultimo anno e mezzo). Un gesto di amicizia e solidarietà che lascia felicemente sorpresi perché l’iniziativa è partita spontanea-mente dal Monaco Buddhista il cui tempio è stato danneggiato dal recente terremoto del distretto di Kumamoto.
MESSICO
Giovani nelle comunità del Messico nell’anno scolastico 2016-2017: il frutto dell’animazione missionaria vocazionale; deposito di speranza per il futuro.
- Arandas: 18 aspiranti in comunità e 50 seminaristi in famiglia.
- San Juan del Río: 50 aspiranti in comunità e 65 seminaristi in famiglia.
- Salamanca: 8 Postulanti e 5 Novizi.
- Guadalajara: 8 studenti di Filosofia
- Arandas y San Juan del Río: 3 Prefetti.
- Ciudad de México: 15 Teologi più 3 studenti di lingua. Totale, 18.
ITALIA
InformaRegione 73 del 22.8.2016 riporta la Lettera della Direzione Regionale sul tema dell’anno 2016-2017: “Caritas Christi urget nos, La carità di Cristo ci sospinge, Ecco la vostra parola d’ordine, ecco la sintesi delle vostre aspirazioni”.

GENERAL DIRECTION
The earthquake that struck areas of Lazio, Marche, Abruzzi and Umbria at dawn on 24 August, causing great harm to people and serious structural damage, made us very sad. Perhaps there are relatives, friends and benefactors of our confreres among those involved. We assure our solidarity and prayers for the people affected by the earthquake. (The General Direction).
BURUNDI
20 Aug: a moving celebration was held to express gratitude for the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the parish of Buyengero (1991). Four years later, Fr. Maule, Fr. Marchiol and C. Gubert were murdered in the house they had built.
A huge crowd, dozens of priests and former collaborators of the confreres took part in the ceremony, which was presided over by the Vicar General of the Bururi diocese and by the Regional Superior.
LAY XAVERIANS
Marina di Serra Tricase (LE), 15-21 Aug: the Lay Xaverians held their annual summer assembly. About eighty people took part, among them 4 Fathers, a Xaverian Sister and 44 adults representing the groups of Salerno, Desio, Parma and Ancona. The assembly also elected the new Council for the next three years.
JAPAN
The Buddhist monk Kawahara Shodou (of the Zen Soto-Shu sect), who lives in the Gyokusho temple at Kikuchi, gave his friend Fr. Moioli an offering of 850 euros for the Italian earthquake victims. The money is the sum of offerings collected at the temple over the last 18 months, and is a spontaneous gesture of friendship and solidarity from a Buddhist monk whose own temple was damaged by the recent earthquake in the district of Kumamoto.

Young Mexican candidates in the academic year 2016-2017, the fruits of missionary-vocation animation and a reserve of hope for the future.
