“Carissimi Confratelli, come vedete, tra un messaggio ai Regionali e uno su Flash cerchiamo di mantenervi aggiornati sulla salute del P. Luigi Menegazzo. Non ci sono molte novità per adesso, speriamo si risolva tutto e bene in breve tempo.
Allora, vi informiamo che il Padre Generale segue ricoverato in ospedale. Dopo aver accertato la situazione cardiologica al San Raffaele, mercoledì scorso è stato trasferito all’ospedale Santo Spirito in Sassia (Roma) per ulteriori analisi e accertamenti che il precedente ospedale non era in grado di offrire. Fisicamente sta meglio, anche se non nasconde il disappunto per la prolungata degenza.
Lui ringrazia tutti per il ricordo e la preghiera. Si scusa per il fatto di non poter seguire la corrispondenza. Continuiamo a tenerlo presente nella nostra preghiera, personale e comunitaria.

SPAGNA
Dal 21 al 24 settembre, a Madrid, in casa nostra si sono radunati in Assemblea i Confratelli della Delegazione della Spagna. In vista del Convegno internazionale sx del 2018 sul tema "Il volto umano del Saveriano", si è trattato questo stesso tema con l'aiuto di uno Psicologo amico dei Saveriani.
L'Ordine del Giorno è stato completato con la revisione delle attività estive portate avanti da ciascuno e la programmazione per l'anno sociale che inizia. Ha avuto luogo anche il sondaggio in vista della nomina del nuovo Delegato e i suoi Consiglieri.
MOZAMBICO
Chemba: per i 70 ragazzi e le 20 ragazze che vivono nelle due case di accoglienza, sono stati acquistati ad agosto il granoturco e i fagioli per i primi due trimestri del prossimo anno scolastico, che comincerà a febbraio.
Questo era il tempo del raccolto. Poi più passa il tempo, più il prezzo sale.
A dire il vero il prezzo era già salito rispetto all’anno scorso a causa della siccità e del conseguente misero raccolto. 20 kg di granoturco l’anno scorso si compravano a 200 meticais. Quest’anno a giugno si compravano a 300 meticais. Adesso sono già a 450 meticais: più del doppio rispetto al 2015. E al mercato non sempre si trovava.
A Chemba la situazione non è facile: molte persone sono a rischio denutrizione nei prossimi mesi. Con la comunità cristiana, sono stati creati quattro gruppi che regolarmente visitano i quattro quartieri del villaggio, aiutando le persone in difficoltà con riso, granoturco e zucchero.

Assisi: nella cerimonia finale dell’evento “Sete di Pace”, Papa Francesco è tornato a stigmatizzare “la grande malattia del nostro tempo: l’indifferenza”. Un ‘virus’, dice, “che paralizza, rende inerti e insensibili, un morbo che intacca il centro stesso della religiosità, ingenerando un nuovo tristissimo paganesimo: il paganesimo dell’indifferenza”.

GENERAL DIRECTION
“Dearest Confreres, as you see, through both the message sent to the Provincials and through FLASH, we have attempted to keep you informed on the state of health of Fr. Luigi Menegazzo. For now, there is nothing new. We do trust it will all be resolved soon and well.
Our Superior General is still recovered in the Hospital. While in the Hospital of St. Raffaele, Fr. Luigi Menegazzo underwent several heart tests. On Wednesday, Fr. Luigi was transferred to the Holy Spirit Hospital in Sassia (Rome) for further tests, all of which had not been available in the previous Hospital. Physically, Fr. Luigi feels much better and does not hide his disappointment for his long presence in the hospital.
Fr. Luigi Menegazzo wholeheartedly thanks all the confreres for their remembrance and for their prayers. He also apologizes for his inability to answer all the messages received and greatly appreciated. Let us continue to remember Fr. Luigi in our personal and community prayers .

SPAIN
Madrid: From Sept. 14 to the 24, our Confreres of the Region of Spain will be gathered in our House for the Assembly. Looking forward to the Xaverian International Meeting of 2018 on the theme: (The human face of the Xaverian) they are reflecting on the same topic, helped by the presence and contribu-tion of a good friend who is a Professional Psycho-logist. On the Agenda, there are also the report and review of the past Summer Activities and the planning of the Activities of the new year, which is about to begin.
MOZAMBIQUE
Cemba: In August, all the necessary quantity of corn and beans were bought to feed the 70 boys and 20 girls who live in our Institutions provided for them.
These provisions will be enough to feed them for the first two trimesters of the new year. To tell the truth, the cost had already risen above the cost of the last year, due to the little rain and consequently poor harvest. Last year, the cost of 20 kilos of corn was 200 meticais. Now it is 450 meticais, more than double. At the local market it is not always available.
In the village of Cemba the situation is not easy: a lot of persons are at risk of suffering for hunger for many months.
In our Christian Community four groups of persons were formed in order to visit the four sections of the village and help the persons in need of rise, corn and sugar.

Assisi: In the final ceremony of the event “Thirst of Peace”, Pope Francis has once again highlighted “the great sickness of our time: indifference”.
He says it is a “virus, which paralyzes, makes us incapable of action and insensitive, a disease which affects the very soul of our religiosity, giving birth to a new form of paganism: the paganism of indifference”. Among those officially
