Padre Collini è stato in missione in Cina e in Sierra Leone: il romanzo si concentra sugli eventi problematici della rivoluzione cinese degli anni '50, le fatiche dell'evangelizzazione in questo contesto, la fede e la serenità di Padre Collini e di tutti i suoi confratelli, il suo rimanere sempre uno spirito libero e un po' "mattacchione".

Penso che sia una storia interessante e curiosa, oltre che una bella apertura alla speranza e al trovare la felicità anche nelle fatiche (ho inserito anche alcuni estratti delle sue lettere ai parenti).

“This year I wrote a novel that recounts the experience in China of a Friulian Xaverian missionary, Fr. Giovanni Battista Collini.

Fr. Collini was in China and Sierra Leone: the novel focuses on the problematic events of the Chinese revolution of 1950s, the efforts of evangelization in this context, the faith and serenity of Fr. Collini and all his brothers, his remaining always a free spirit and a little "joker".

I think it is an interesting and curious story, as well as a beautiful form of openness to hope and the discover of happiness even in troubles (I have also included some quotations from his letters to relatives).
