In occasione dell’ottobre missionario appena concluso, dal Burundi ci scrivono:

“I volti, la vita e le coraggiose testimonianze missionarie dei nostri martiri sono stati al centro dei nostri incontri e delle nostre celebrazioni il venerdì 11 ottobre. I nostri confratelli uccisi in Buyengero, Ottorino, Aldo e la collaboratrice Katina, martiri della fraternità in compagnia del sacerdote locale Michel Kayoya e dei 40 seminaristi di Buta li stiamo proponendo alla Chiesa locale e a quella universale come esempi di vita offerta a Dio per il bene dei fratelli, da imitare.

I nostri laici saveriani hanno vissuto il mese di ottobre dando la loro disponibilità nell’animazione missionaria  soprattutto nelle comunità di base. Ogni giorno hanno animato la recita del Rosario Missionario nella «cappella della pace e del perdono», un tempo abitazione delle nostre sorelle saveriane Olga, Bernardetta e Lucia massacrate nel settembre 2014. L’ultimo giorno di ottobre, dopo una buona preparazione, si sono messi in viaggio verso il centro per bambini celebrolesi di Kanyosha. Non sono andati a mani vuote e non sono tornati con il cuore vuoto. I nostri laici hanno seguito una lezione di Missione vissuta dal personale che, giorno e notte e con straordinaria dedizione cerca di far sentire i bambini ammalati Figli prediletti di Dio e meritevoli di tanta tenerezza.”

At the end of the World Mission Month of October, our confreres from Burundi wrote: “The faces, the lives and the courageous missionary testimony of our martyrs were at the center of our encounters and celebrations of Friday, October 11^th – 2019. Our Confreres Ottorino, Aldo and our collaborator Katina, who were here killed, martyrs of fraternity together with the local Diocesan Priest Michel Kayoya and the 40 Seminarians of Buta are presented to the local and universal Church as examples of lives lived as total offerings for the glory of God and the life of the whole world: examples to be loved and to be imitated.  Our lay Xaverian friends have lived this world mission month making themselves available for mission education and formation, particularly in their local communities.  The guided the Mission Rosary in the “Chapel for Peace  and Forgiveness”. It used to be living quarters of our Xaverian Sisters: Olga, Bernardetta and Lucia, massacred  on September 2014.   On the last day of October, they travelled to the Center for Sick Children of Kanyosha.  They did not go with empty hands; neither did they return with empty hearts.  Our lay friends have personally lived a great mission lesson, day and night and with an extraordinary dedication attempting to offer to the sick children an experience of being privileged loved children by God, all deserving such tenderness.”
