Mercoledì 28 settembre 2022, verso le ore 20.30, presso la Casa di Cura Città di Parma è morta la nostra sorella Luisa Ravanetti mmx, all’età di anni 83. Ricoverata da lunedì scorso per accertamenti, si è aggravata rapidamente e – quasi sorprendendoci – se n’è andata.

Luisa, infermiera e ostetrica, negli anni 1969-1972 è stata missionaria in Burundi. Nel 1972 durante il II Capitolo generale è stata eletta Vicaria generale e, successivamente, Direttrice generale compito che ha svolto per due sessenni, fino all’autunno del 1990. Trascorso un periodo sabbatico e di riposo, è stata destinata alla R.D. del Congo (allora Zaire) e lì Luisa ha lavorato come infermiera e ostetrica, in diverse comunità: Uvira, Luvungi e Mbobero, per più di dieci anni.

Rientrata in Italia nel 2004 ha svolto, per molti anni, il servizio di infermiera tra le sorelle ammalate di Casa Madre e poi un periodo più breve nella Casa di Riposo di Ceggia.

È ritornata in Casa Madre a Parma lo scorso anno a novembre, quando le sue condizioni di salute erano diventate precarie. (Missionarie Saveriane)

On Wednesday, September 28^th, 2022, at about 8:30 p.m. (local time), our 83-year old Xaverian sister Luisa Ravanetti m.m.x. passed away at “Città di Parma” Nursing Home, where she had been hospitalised on Monday for medical checks. Her condition worsened very quickly and – almost unexpectedly – she left us.

Luisa was a nurse and obstetrician. In 1969-1972, she did missionary work in Burundi. In 1972, during the II General Chapter, she was elected Vicar General and, subsequently, General Director, a task which she carried out for twelve years, till the fall of 1990. After a sabbatical, she was assigned to the D.R. of the Congo (then Zaire). There, Luisa worked as a nurse and obstetrician in various communities: Uvira, Luvungi and Mbobero, for more than ten years.

Upon her return to Italy in 2004, for many years, she served as a nurse for our sick sisters on the Mother House and, later, for a shorter period, in the Home for the Elderly in Ceggia, Venice.

Last year, when her physical condition had become precarious, she returned to the Mother House in Parma. (Xaverian Sisters)
