• Giovedì 15 dicembre 2022 è deceduto a Gottolengo (Brescia), all’età di 71 anni, p. Pierino Pini (ex confratello saveriano). L’Eucaristia e i riti funebri sono stati celebrati a Gottolengo (BS), sabato 17 dicembre 2022.  Era compagno di ordinazione presbiterale del compianto p. Luigi Menegazzo. Dopo aver lavorato in Camerun (Benakuma, 1988-1991), aveva chiesto di poter seguire - come presbitero itinerante - il Cammino Neocatecumenale. Su consiglio dei superiori, aveva lasciato la Congregazione, incardinandosi nella diocesi di Roma. Ha accompagnato per 30 anni i neocatecumenali di Vicenza e dell'Irlanda. A causa della malattia, gli ultimi dieci anni li aveva trascorsi presso i suoi familiari.

• Sabato 17 dicembre 2022, poco prima di mezzanotte è deceduta a Meana Sardo (Nuoro), la signora Marietta Pirastu, mamma del nostro confratello Giovanni Paolo Succu. Aveva 87 anni. L’Eucaristia e i riti funebri sono stati celebrati lunedì 19 dicembre 2022 nella parrocchia di San Bernardo di Meana Sardo (NU).

• Lunedì 19 dicembre 2022 è deceduta a Sàdali (provincia del Sud Sardegna), la signora Maria Meloni, sorella del nostro confratello p. Ezio Meloni. Aveva 88 anni. L’Eucaristia e i riti funebri sono stati celebrati martedì 20 dicembre 2022, nella chiesa parrocchiale di Sàdali (provincia del Sud Sardegna).

• Lunedì 19 dicembre 2022 è deceduta, presso l’ospedale di Parma, la Missionaria di Maria – Saveriana Giovanna BELTRAME. Aveva 84 anni. Era ricoverata da alcune settimane per complicazioni di salute. L’Eucaristia e i riti funebri sono stati celebrati nella cappella della Casa Madre, giovedì 22 dicembre 2022.

La sorella Giovanna, dopo la sua professione, per una decina d’anni, è rimasta in Casa Madre a Parma, dove ha svolto diversi servizi interni (economa della casa, vicemaestra, ...).

Da fine novembre 1974 a fine dicembre 1986 è stata a Ceggia, dove ha svolto per molti anni il servizio di direttrice di comunità. Dal 1987 al 1997 ha lavorato in Messico. Dopo un anno sabbatico in Casa Madre, ha continuato il suo lavoro missionario in questa comunità.

• On Thursday, December 17^th, 2022, Fr. Pierino Pini (a former Xaverian confrere) passed away in Gottolengo (Brescia, Italy). He was 71. The Requiem Mass and funeral rites were celebrated in Gottolengo on Saturday, December 17^th, 2022. He had been ordained priest with the late Fr. Luigi Menegazzo. After having worked in Cameroon (Benakuma, 1988-1991), he asked to follow the Neocatechumenal Way as an itinerant priest. Following the superiors’ advice, he left the Congregation and was incardinated in the diocese of Rome. He accompanied the Neocatechumenal Christians for 30 years, both in Vicenza and in Ireland. Due to illness, he spent the last ten years with his family.

• On Saturday, December 17^th, 2022, shortly after midnight, Mrs Marietta Pirastu, mother of our confrere Fr. Giovanni Paolo Succu, passed away in Meana Sardo (Nuoro, Italy). She was 87. The Requiem Mass and funeral rites were celebrated on Monday, December 19^th, 2022, in St Bernard Parish of Meana Sardo.

• On Monday, December 19^th, 2022, Mrs Maria Meloni, sister of our confrere Fr. Ezio Meloni, passed away in Sàdali (South Sardinia, Italy). She was 88. The Requiem Mass and the funeral rites were celebrated on Tuesday, December 20^th, 2022, in the parish church of Sàdali.

• On Monday, December 19^th, 2022, the 84-year-old Xaverian Missionary Sister of Mary, Giovanna Beltrame, passed away in the hospital of Parma. She had been hospitalised few weeks earlier due to the deterioration of her health condition. The funeral was celebrated in the chapel of the sisters’ Mother House, on Thursday, December 22^nd, 2022.

After her profession, Sister Giovanna remained in the Mother House of Parma for about ten years, carrying out different internal services (treasurer of the house, vice-master of novices, …).

From the end of November 1974 to the end of 1986, she was in Ceggia (Venice) where, for most of the time, she served as director of the community. From 1987 to 1997, she worked in Mexico. Following a sabbatical year in the Mother House, she continued her missionary work in that community.
