Domenica 17 maggio 2026, la comunità di Teologia di Desio, MB, ha organizzato una festa con i parenti e i familiari dei missionari Saveriani originari della regione geografica di Desio e dintorni. Hanno partecipato sia i familiari dei missionari ancora in vita sia quelli di coloro che ci hanno preceduto nella casa del Padre. Questo evento, ormai tradizionale, ha lo scopo di coltivare le relazioni tra la comunità Saveriana del territorio e le famiglie: la famiglia di un confratello, infatti, è anche la famiglia di tutti i confratelli.

Oltre ai familiari dei confratelli, erano presenti anche amici e benefattori: in tutto una ventina di persone. La giornata è iniziata con un caloroso benvenuto: le famiglie sono state accolte, salutate e invitate a conversare in un clima disteso. Dopo questo momento di condivisione, ci siamo diretti verso la cappella per la l’Eucaristia. La celebrazione - solenne e animata -  è stata presieduta da p. Mauro Loda, vicario Generale dei missionari Saveriani.

Al termine dell'Eucaristia, ha preso la parola P. José Guadalupe Robledo Sánchez, rettore della comunità teologica. Egli ha presentato ad una ad una le famiglie e i benefattori, ringraziandoli per la loro presenza e operosità. Diversi familiari sono rimasti colpiti e commossi nello sperimentare lo spirito di famiglia che la comunità Saveriana custodisce con cura. Dopo le presentazioni delle famiglie, anche i membri della comunità – formatori e studenti professi – si sono presentati a loro volta. Infine, p. Mauro Loda ha condiviso alcune informazioni sulla Congregazione.

La festa si è conclusa con un pranzo comunitario accompagnato da vari canti. “Auguriamoci che l'anno prossimo questa iniziativa possa contare sulla partecipazione di ancora più famiglie” – ha detto P. José Guadalupe, chiudendo così la giornata di fraternità. (Herybertus Jakpen Metta Ndeto sx)

On Sunday, May 17^th, 2026, the community of the Theologate in Desio, MB, organized a party with the relatives and families of the Xaverian Missionaries coming from Desio and the surrounding region. Relatives of living Xaverians and of Xaverians who have already passed away took part in the celebration. This by-now traditional event is meant to foster the relation between the Xaverian community and the families of its territory, for one confrere’s family is the family of all confreres too. Apart from the confreres’ relatives, friends and benefactors were also in attendance, for a total of about twenty people. The day started with a warm reception: the families were welcomed, greeted and invited to join a conversation in a relaxed mood. After this moment of sharing, we made our way to the chapel for the Eucharist.  The celebration – solemn and participated – was presided by Fr. Mauro Loda, Vicar General of the Xaverian missionaries.

At the end of the Mass, Fr. José Guadalupe Robledo Sánchez, rector of the community spoke, and one-by-one introduced the families and the benefactors, thanking them for their presence and hard work. Several family members were deeply touched and moved by the family spirit that is so dear to the Xaverian community. After the families were introduced, the members of the community (formators and professed students) introduced themselves as well. Finally, Fr. Mauro Loda shared some information about the Congregation.

The day ended with a common meal accompanied by songs. “Let us wish each other that next year this initiative may witness the participation of even more families” – said Fr. José Guadalupe in concluding that day of fraternity. (Herybertus Jakpen Metta Ndeto s.x.)
