Riportiamo un breve testo sulla santità segnalatoci da un confratello ottuagenario. Si tratta di uno scritto del religioso piamartino p. Pier Giordano Cabra:

“Amo i santi perché la loro frequentazione mi rende ottimista. Essi soffrono per il male, ma sanno che il bene è più forte. Non si lamentano. Pregano e agiscono. Prima di denunciare gli altri, fanno i conti con se stessi, mettendo ordine in casa propria. Amo i santi perché hanno fatto e fanno bella la Chiesa. Amo i santi perché in ciascuno di loro riconosco un tratto del volto di Cristo. E, contemplando la loro straordinaria varietà, mi viene da pensare che la storia abbia per scopo segreto quello di comporre, epoca dopo epoca, il disegno dell’incomparabile volto del mio Signore. Non mi stancherò mai di amare i santi perché spero sempre che mi diano una mano per camminare libero come loro lungo la loro via, che è la tua, Signore!”

Below we present a short text on holiness pointed out by an octogenarian xaverian confrere. It is a writing by the Piamartino Fr. Pier Giordano Cabra:

“I love the saints because being frequently in their company makes me optimistic. They suffer because of evil, but know that good is stronger. They don’t complain. They pray and act. Before denouncing others, they deal with their own issues, and tidy up their own house. I love the saints because they made and make the Church beautiful. I love the saints because in each one of them I spot a trait of Christ’s face. While I gaze their extraordinary variety, it dawns on me that the secret purpose of history may be that of composing, age after age, the picture of my Lord’s incomparable face. I will never grow tired of loving the saints because I always hope that they will give me a hand to help me walk, freely as they are, on the same path, your path, o Lord!”
