- Mary Huang è l’autrice della risonanza di questa settimana: “The inspiring elements of the Testament Letter of St. Guido Maria Conforti” (Gli elementi ispiratori della Lettera di San Guido Maria Conforti).
Mary Huang è di Taipei (Taiwan). I primi incontri della comunità saveriana con Mary Huang risalgono a circa 15 anni fa quando, seguendo le indicazioni del p. Gesuita che l'aveva battezzata, ha cercato una comunità cristiana di riferimento vicino al luogo della sua residenza. Con il tempo ha conosciuto e approfondito la spiritualità di San Guido Maria Conforti, in particolare a partire dal pellegrinaggio in Italia in occasione della canonizzazione (2011). Ha una formazione di giornalista e lavora in una importante casa editrice. Oltre ad essere sostegno del gruppo degli Amici Saveriani, ha messo con grande generosità la sua competenza a servizio della nostra attività nei media. I nostri libri più recenti sono stati tutti editati da lei gratuitamente, con competenza e gusto artistico. Ha partecipato all'incontro dei laici amici in Giappone nel 2019. Ha pubblicato in lingua cinese molti articoli sul carisma saveriano nel settimanale cattolico di Taiwan. Ha pure presentato elementi della spiritualità del Conforti in un giornale di filosofia Buddista.
Scrive Mary Huang: “…benché io non sia parte di questa Congregazione, ho però la fortuna di essere un membro della Famiglia di Guido e quindi di poter accostare in profondità il senso trascendente trasmesso da questa LT. Sono profondamente convita che essa può essere applicata alla vita spirituale di ogni persona a qualsiasi luogo, tempo e cultura ed identità essa appartenga: non importa se essa sia un sacerdote diocesano, un individuo sposato o una persona consacrata…”.

- Sul canale YouTube di MissioNET, è stato pubblicato, in varie lingue, il 9° episodio del video sulla Lettera Testamento sulla dimensione della vita fraterna: Mons. Conforti non solo nutre un altissimo concetto della vocazione missionaria, ma anche un altissimo e audace ideale dello spirito di famiglia. Egli, infatti, sa che la chiamata missionaria non è totale senza quella dei “compagni di vocazione”. È attraverso i rapporti fraterni che noi impariamo ad accogliere l’altro come dono di Dio, accettandone le ricchezze, le differenze e i limiti: “Bisogna amare col fatto, e voi lo potete, consolando i vostri confratelli quando li vedete nel dubbio: una parola può essere uno sprazzo di luce. Consolateli nelle afflizioni; non rifiutate di spargere su di loro una goccia di balsamo; sovveniteli in tutti i loro bisogni, in tutte le maniere che potete”.

- Mrs. Mary Huang is the author of this week’s resonance: The inspiring elements of the Testament Letter of St Guido Maria Conforti.
Mrs. Huang is from Taipei, Taiwan. The first meeting of the Xaverians with Mary Huang dates back to about 15 years ago, when, following the indications of a Jesuit Father that had baptized her, she searched for a Christian Community close to her residence. Over time, Mary has come to know and deepen the spirituality of St. Guido Maria Conforti, in particular since taking part in a pilgrimage to Italy on the occasion of his Canonization (2011). Mrs. Huang trained as a journalist and is now working in an important Publishing House. In addition to being a leading member of the Group of Xaverian Friends, Mary has generously put her expertise at the service of our activities in the media. She edited all our most recent books for free and with great artistic competence and taste. Mary has also attended a meeting of lay friends in Japan in 2019, and published many articles in Chinese about the Xaverian Charism in the Catholic Weekly of Taiwan. Mary has even presented some elements of Conforti’s spirituality in a journal of Buddhist philosophy.
Mary Huang writes: “… although I am not a member of the Xaverian Congregation, I am fortunate to be a member of Guido’s Family and, therefore, to be able to approach in depth the transcendent sense transmitted by this Testament Letter. I am deeply convinced that it can be applied to the spiritual life of every person, no matter what place, time, culture and identity a person may belong to, and not matter whether that person is a diocesan priest, a married individual or a consecrated person …”.

- On MissionNET YouTube channel, the 9th episode in the series of videos on the Testament Letter has been posted in various languages. It is about the dimension of fraternal life: Mons. Conforti not only nurtures a very high concept of the missionary vocation, but also a very high and bold ideal of family spirit. Indeed, he knows that the missionary call is incomplete if it does not lead to being and becoming “companions of vocation”. It is through fraternal relationships that we learn to welcome the others as gifts from God, accepting their riches, differences and limits: “One must love concretely with actions and facts, consoling his confreres when they appear doubting. A single word can be ‘a flash of light’. Console them when they are afflicted. Do not refuse to spread a drop of balm on them. Sustain them in all their needs, in all possible ways.
