La Regione Saveriana del Burundi ha celebrato con tanta gratitudine la memoria di San G.M. Conforti. Il 5 novembre 2021 ci siamo incontrati presso la Casa di Formazione di Bujumbura con tutti i nostri studenti di Propedeutica e di Filosofia, oltre a cinque rappresentanti del Laicato Saveriano. La giornata si è aperta con un ritiro ben preparato e guidato dal nostro confratello p. Emmanuel  Mushagalusa Bwalande sx, della RdCongo, ordinato presbitero il 18 luglio 2021, e ora nella nostra regione del Burundi. Nel suo intervento ha sottolineato come la spiritualità di san Guido Maria Conforti possieda un’anima che può nutrirci molto bene nella nostra ricerca di santificazione e consolidamento di una fraternità capace di superare ogni tipo di barriera.  P. Emmanuel, inoltre, ha sottolineato, alla luce della Lettera Testamento 11, come l’individualismo, la scontrosità e l’egoismo nella nostra vita religiosa e missionaria siano virus ancora più nocivi del Covid.

Dopo il ritiro, il Superiore Regionale ha condiviso con tutta l’assemblea Il messaggio della COSUMA Intercapitolare. Si è aperto un interessante scambio di domande e risposte sui temi trattati a Tavernerio.  

Dopo lo scambio c'è stata la celebrazione eucaristica presieduta p. Gabriele Basuzwa sx. Nella sua riflessione omiletica, ampliando una riflessione iniziata durante l’incontro, ha sottolineato il rapporto intrinseco tra la tenerezza e l’interculturalità, facendo riferimento all’incontro tra Cornelio e Pietro nel cap. 10 degli Atti degli Apostoli. The Xaverian Region of Burundi celebrated with gratitude the memory of St Guido M. Conforti. On November 5^th 2021, at the Formation House in Bujumbura we met with all our students of Propaedeutic studies and Philosophy, and five representatives of the Xaverian Laity. The day began with a well-prepared retreat led by our confrere Fr. Emmanuel Mushagalusa Bwalande s.x., from the D.R. of the Congo. He was ordained priest on July 18^th, 2021 and is now part of our Burundian Region. His reflection emphasised how the spirituality of St Guido Maria Conforti possesses a soul that can nourish us in the path towards sainthood and towards the fostering of a type of brotherhood capable to overcome any kind of barriers. Moreover, in light of Testament Letter 11, Fr. Emmanuel underlined how individualism, surliness and selfishness in our religious and missionary life are viruses much more harmful than Covid.

After the retreat, the Superior Regional shared with the entire assembly the Message of the Intercapitular CoSuMa; then an interesting exchange of questions and replies around the themes discussed in Tavernerio took place.

The exchange was followed by the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Gabriel Basuzwa s.x., who in his homily expanded the reflection initiated during the meeting. By referring to Peter’s encounter with Cornelius narrated in chapter 10 of Acts of the Apostles, he emphasised the intrinsic relation between tenderness and interculturality. (Gabriel Basuzwa s.x.)
