Nella cappella della comunità della Teologia “San Francisco Xavier” a Città del Messico, il 1° ottobre 2025 si è celebrata la messa di invio dei coniugi Luís Carlos Gándara Moreno e Vielca Saray Nahla Pérez, volontari Saveriani messicani che il prossimo 13 ottobre 2025 partiranno per offrire un servizio di volontariato di tre mesi nella comunità Saveriana della Casa Madre di Parma, in particolare assistendo i nostri confratelli nella comunità del IV Piano.

Durante la commovente celebrazione eucaristica, sotto la protezione di Santa Teresa del Bambino Gesù, p. Rubén Antonio Macías Sapién, rettore della comunità e referente della regione del Messico per il Progetto XAVI (Volontariato Internazionale Saveriano) ha consegnato loro la croce missionaria e lo stemma di San Francesco Saverio. Nelle parole di invio, ha ricordato loro l'importanza dell'incontro personale con Cristo contemplato sulla Croce per andare incontro a coloro che, nella Casa Madre, continuano nei loro corpi “ciò che manca alla passione di Cristo”; la bellezza della missione compiuta nelle piccole opere e la certezza di vivere e lavorare nella grande famiglia carismatica dei missionari che li accoglie con gratitudine e vicinanza.

Luís e Vielca sono i primi messicani che si uniscono e partono in missione sotto la giurisdizione del progetto del Volontariato Internazionale Saveriano (XAVI)- Speriamo che dopo di loro molti altri si uniscano a questo progetto. (Rubén Antonio Macías Sapién sx)

On October 1^st, 2025, a Mass was celebrated in the chapel of the St Francis Xavier Theologate, Mexico City, for the mandate of Luís Carlos Gándara Moreno and Vielca Saray Nahla Pérez, a couple of Mexican Xaverian volunteers that, on October 13^th, 2025, will leave for the Xaverian Community of the Mother House in Parma where they will offer their service for three months, in particular by assisting our confreres of the community in the Fourth Floor.

In the course of that moving Eucharistic celebration, under the protection of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, Fr. Rubén Antonio Macías Sapién, rector of the community and reference person of Progetto XAVI (International Xaverian Volunteers) for the Region of Mexico, gave them the missionary cross and the coat of arms of St. Francis Xavier. In his address, he reminded them of the importance of a personal encounter with Christ through the contemplation of the Cross so as to reach out to those in the Mother House who fill up in their body “what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ.” Moreover, he emphasised the beauty of mission realised in little works and assured them that they will live and work within the great charismatic family of the missionaries who welcome them with gratitude and closeness.

Luís and Vielca are the first Mexicans to join and set out on a mission under the jurisdiction of the Xaverian International Volunteer (XAVI) project. We hope that many others will join this project after them. (Rubén Antonio Macías Sapién s.x.)
