Il terzo episodio della serie "Insieme nella vocazione missionaria e nel martirio" presenta la figura del martire di p. Luigi Carrara sx.

Nato il 3 marzo 1933 a Cornale, frazione di Pradalunga, Bergamo, Italia, p. Luigi Carrara era il settimo di dieci figli. Sua madre, Elisabetta, racconta come Luigi sia sopravvissuto ad una polmonite a 18 mesi. Questa guarigione ha spinto Elisabetta ad offrire suo figlio al servizio di Dio. A 14 anni, Luigi entra a far parte della comunità dei Missionari Saveriani di Pedrengo, Bergamo.

Il video sottolinea il profondo impegno di p. Luigi Carrara nella sua vocazione missionaria. Nel 1962, prima di partire per il Congo, scrive ai suoi genitori esprimendo il desiderio di portare il dono della fede in Congo. Era convinto che la fede nel Signore Gesù avrebbe raggiunto la sua pienezza nel momento storico che la nazione stava attraversando.

The third episode of the series “Sharing in the Same Missionary Vocation and Martyrdom” illustrates the figure of martyr Fr. Luigi Carrara s.x. Fr. Luigi Carrara was born on March 3^rd, 1933, in Cornale, a village under the township of Pradalunga, Bergamo, Italy. He was the seventh of ten siblings. His mother, Elisabetta, recounted how 18-months-old Luigi had survived a pneumonia. That healing prompted Elisabetta to offer her son to the service of God. At the age of 14, Luigi joined the community of the Xaverian Missionaries in Pedrengo, Bergamo.

The video emphasises Fr. Luigi Carrara’s deep commitment to his missionary vocation. In 1962, before his departure for the Congo, he wrote to his parents expressing his desire to contribute to bringing the gift of faith in the Congo. He was convinced that faith in the Lord Jesus would have reached fullness in that very historical moment the nation was then experiencing.
