Il 17 gennaio 2021 segna una nuova piccola tappa per la nostra comunità Saveriana nel percorso di inserimento tracciato dal Progetto per una presenza Saveriana in Marocco. Il confratello Juan Antonio Flores Osuna continua a imparare la lingua Dariya a Tangeri. I confratelli François Saleh Moll e Rolando Ruíz Durán si recano a Rabat per frequentare l'Istituto Ecumenico Al Mowafaqa allo scopo di ottenere il Certificato di Dialogo Interreligioso e Interculturale. Assieme ad altri sacerdoti, religiosi e laici (proveniente dall’Arcidiocesi di Rabat e Tangeri; dalla Prefettura Apostolica di Laaiun, insieme ad alcuni protestanti), la maggioranza dei quali è nuova in Marocco, partecipiamo [ovvero i due confratelli che studiano a Rabat – n.t.] a un programma personalizzato che ci introduce al tipo di presenza che intendiamo costruire in questo paese del Maghreb. L'Istituto ha un corpo docente altamente diversificato a motivo delle sue diverse origini culturali e religiose: musulmani e cristiani, evangelici e cattolici, africani e europei... Sembra che questo Istituto - unico nel suo genere - ci permetta di vivere ciò a cui la Chiesa stessa è chiamata a testimoniare e per il quale Papa Francesco ebbe l’occasione di esprimere la sua gratitudine nella sua visita Apostolica in Marocco il 31 marzo 2019: Ringrazio Dio per quello che avete fatto qui in Marocco, come discepoli di Gesù Cristo, trovando ogni giorno nel dialogo, nella collaborazione e nell'amicizia gli strumenti per seminare futuro e speranza. In questa linea, come comunità Saveriana, ci incontriamo una volta ogni 15 giorni per condividere quanto stiamo vivendo.  (Rolando Ruíz Durán sx)

For our Xaverian community, January 17^th, 2021 marks a new small step on the path of adaptation which has been charted out in Project for a Xaverian Presence in Morocco. Our confrere Juan Antonio Flores Osuna continues learning the Dariya language in Tangier. Confreres François Saleh Moll and Rolando Ruiz go to Rabat to attend Al-Mowafaqa Ecumenical Institute with the aim of obtaining a Certificate in Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue. Together with other priests, religious and lay people (coming from the Archdioceses of Rabat and Tangier, and the Apostolic Prefecture of Laaiun), as well as some Protestants, the majority of whom is new to Morocco, we [i.e., the two confreres going to Rabat – T/N] take part in a tutorial meant as a specific introduction to the type of presence we intend to build in this Maghreb country. By reason of its various cultural and religious backgrounds – which include Muslims and Christians, Evangelicals and Catholics, Africans and Europeans, etc. – the teaching staff of the Institute is highly diversified. It appears, then, that this quite unique school allows us to live out what the Church is called to bear witness to and Pope Francis had reason to express his gratitude for during his Apostolic visit in Morocco on March 31^st, 2019. On that occasion, he said: I thank God for all that you are doing as followers of Jesus Christ here in Morocco, daily discovering through dialogue, cooperation and friendship the way to sow a future of hope.
