La diocesi di Nakhonsawan ha stipulato un memorandum d'intesa con il Jesuit Worldwide Learning (JWL) con sede a Ginevra (Svizzera), per realizzare un programma di istruzione terziaria per le persone e le comunità ai margini delle società. Tra queste ci sono i giovani delle minoranze etniche del nord-ovest, soprattutto Karen e altre minoranze etniche in fuga dai conflitti in Myanmar. La diocesi ha scelto il nostro Oratorio San Francesco Saverio per ospitare questo programma, in quanto i Saveriani di Umphang hanno lavorato intensamente a stretto contatto con questi gruppi di minoranze etniche. P. Tardelly Reynaldo Fulgentio è stato nominato coordinatore del progetto che offre 7 programmi di diploma a breve termine (6-8 mesi) e il Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (per un programma di 3 anni). Il certificato di diploma professionale e le lauree sono fornite dal Gesuit Worldwide Learning (JWL) in collaborazione con 5 università in Europa, 2 università gesuite in India e 2 università gesuite negli Stati Uniti. Il programma richiede un livello di conoscenza dell'inglese pari aB1; pertanto, il percorso di apprendimento presso lo Xavier Oratory Centre inizia con il programma Global English Language (GEL). Il 1° luglio 2024, il Centro ha lanciato ufficialmente il programma GEL con i suoi primi sei studenti, tra cui 4 birmani e 2 thailandesi. Tutti i programmi sono stati pensati nel quadro dell'esperienza ignaziana, il cui obiettivo è lo sviluppo dell'intera persona, o "cura personalis". Crediamo che una persona umana pienamente viva sia il luogo in cui possono crescere i semi del Vangelo e che proprio lì la dimensione missionaria diventi significativa, perché non cerca di convertire le persone a una sorta di religione, ma di prendersi cura del loro cuore e della loro mente per accogliere con gioia Dio nella loro vita.
Nel frattempo, l'Associazione degli Architetti del Siam (Thai Architects Organization) ha pubblicato nella sua rivista annuale (Asa Journal) un'interessante recensione sull'opera architettonica della nostra Cappella dell'Oratorio di San Francesco Saverio, intitolata al "Sacro Granchio". NAKHONSAWAN DIOCESE – THAILAND and SAINT FRANCIS XAVIER ORATORY: THE XAVERIAN COMMUNITY IN UMPHANG
The diocese of Nakhonsawan has made a memorandum of understanding with the Jesuits Worldwide Learning based in Geneva (Switzerland) to implement a tertiary education program for people and communities at the margins of the societies. This includes young ethnic minorities in the Northwest, mostly Karen and other ethnic minorities fleeing conflicts in Myanmar. The diocese has chosen our Saint Francis Xavier Oratory to host this program as the Xaverians in Umphang have been intensively working closely with those ethnic minorities’ groups. Father Reynaldo Fulgentio Tardelly has been appointed as the coordinator of the program which offers 7 short-term diploma programs (6-8 months) and Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (for 3 years program). The professional diploma certificate and degrees are provided by the Jesuits Worldwide Learning JWL in partnership with 5 universities in Europe, 2 Jesuit Universities in India and 2 Jesuit Universities in USA. The program requires at least B1 level of English proficiency, so the learning path in Xavier Oratory Centre begins with Global English Language (GEL program). On July 1st, 2024, the center has officially launched the GEL program with its first six students among them 4 Burmese and 2 Thai students. All programs have been developed within the framework of Ignatian experience which seeks to develop the whole person, or “cura personalis”. We believe that a fully alive human person is where the seeds of the Gospel can grow and there exactly missionary becomes meaningful as it doesn't seek to convert people to a sort of religion but to cure their minds and hearts in order to joyfully welcome God in their lives.
