Dal 21 al 24 giugno 2022 si è tenuto presso l’Università Urbaniana di Roma, la 7ª Conferenza dell’Associazione Internazionale di Missiologi Cattolici. Il titolo dell’incontro: “30 ANNI DALLA REDEMPTORIS MISSION e da  DIALOGO E PROCLAMAZIONE.  Sviluppi, frutti e nuove opportunità”. La conferenza si è svolta in collaborazione con la Pontificia Unione Missionaria, il Dicastero per l’Evangelizzazione dei Popoli e il Dicastero per il Dialogo Interreligioso. 

Dopo 30 anni, la Redemptoris Missio e Dialogo e Proclamazione rimangono una colonna portante della missione della Chiesa. Oltre a riflettere sul modo in cui questi documenti hanno ispirato l’attività missionaria fino ai nostri giorni, i partecipanti si sono chiesti se e come tali documenti possono offrire principi guida alla missione della Chiesa per rispondere alle nuove sfide che emergono nei rapidi cambiamenti.

Il confratello p. Rocco Viviano sx, in qualità di Segretario Generale, ha organizzato e coordinato la preparazione e la celebrazione della Conferenza.

Tre dei relatori al convegno sono stati ospiti presso la Casa Generalizia: Prof. Catherine Cornille (Boston College, USA), Fr Michael Barnes sj (University of Roehampton, Regno Unito) e Leandro Fontana (Institut für Weltkirche und Mission, Germania).

From June 21^st to 24^th, 2022, the VII Conference of the International Association of Catholic Missiologists was held at Urbaniana University (Rome). Title of the meeting was Thirty Years since Redemptoris Missio & Dialogue and Proclamation. Developments, Fruits, New Opportunities. The conference was jointly organised with the Pontifical Missionary Union, the Dicastery for the Evangelisation of Peoples and the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue.

After 30 years, Redemptoris Missio and Dialogue and Proclamation remain the backbone of the Church’s mission. Participants reflected on the ways whereby these documents have been inspiring missionary activity till today, and on whether and how they can still provide the Church’s mission with guiding principles to meet the new challenges that arise from today’s fast changes.

Our confrere, Fr. Rocco Viviano s.x., in his capacity as General Secretary, organised and coordinated the preparation and realisation of the Conference.

Three of the speakers at the conference were guests at the Generalate: Prof. Catherine Cornille (Boston College, USA), Br Michael Barnes sj (University of Roehampton, UK) and Prof. Leandro Fontana (Institut für Weltkirche und Mission, Germany).
