“Il nostro X Capitolo generale avrebbe dovuto svolgersi un anno fa, dal 7 al 26 settembre 2020. La pandemia ci ha costrette a rinviarlo due volte per ragioni di sicurezza e per garantire la presenza di tutte le delegate. Finalmente potrà avere luogo da giovedì 23 settembre a sabato 9 ottobre 2021 e si svolgerà nella nostra Casa Madre a Parma.

Lungamente preparato, con il coinvolgimento di tutte le sorelle e comunità, esso ha per tema Rinnovarci insieme per la missione. Il discernimento capitolare si articolerà attorno ad alcune priorità emerse nelle riflessioni confluite nell’Instrumentum laboris ed esprimerà il nostro comune desiderio di fedeltà al carisma esclusivamente missionario della nostra Famiglia e di una spiritualità e di una prassi rispondenti al bisogno di Vangelo degli uomini e delle donne di oggi.

Nella settimana precedente il Capitolo ci collegheremo online per una prima condivisione tra noi e P. Gabriele Ferrari e don Gianni Colzani, che ci aiuteranno a riflettere su “Come vivere il nostro specifico ad gentes, ad extra, ad vitam all’interno di una Chiesa tutta missionaria”. Nei giorni immediatamente precedenti l’apertura del Capitolo generale P. Fernando García Rodríguez ci farà dono di animare alcuni giorni di ritiro spirituale e, al termine, ci intratterrà sullo stesso argomento.

Il Capitolo generale si svolgerà con l’aiuto di due facilitatori, don Gian Franco Poli e Gloria Conti, della diocesi di Albano Laziale.

“The Tenth General Chapter of the Xaverian Sisters was supposed to take place a year ago, from the 7^th to the 26^th of September 2020.  Twice, the pandemic has forced us to postpone it for security reasons and to ensure the presence of all Delegates. Finally, it will take place from Thursday, September 23^rd to Saturday, October 9^th – 2021, in our Mother House in Parma.

This event, which has been prepared for a long time with the involvement of all Sisters, has as its theme: Renewing ourselves for the mission. The discernment of the Chapter will be articulated around some priorities, which emerged from our reflection and then were brought together in the Instrumentum laboris. Thus, the Chapter will express our common desire to be faithful to the exclusively missionary charism of our Family, and our quest for a spirituality and practice that respond to the need for the Gospel of today’s men and women.

In the week preceding the Chapter, we will connect online for a first sharing between us and Fr. Gabriele Ferrari s.x. and Rev. don Gianni Colzani.  They will help us reflect on “How to live our specific consecration ad gentes, ad extra, ad vitam, within a Church that is entirely missionary”. Few days right before the opening of the General Chapter, Fr. Fernando García Rodríguez s.x. will kindly animate our Spiritual Retreat and, at the end, share his insights and wisdom on our main topic.

The General Chapter will take place with the help of two facilitators, Fr. Franco Poli and Mrs. Gloria Conti, from the Diocese of Albano Laziale.
