XVII CG Comunicato 05

Sabato, 5 agosto, si inizia con la presentazione delle relazioni dell’Europa. P. Mario Mula introduce la sessione con la preghiera per il Capitolo. Moderatore della giornata è p. Carlos Collantes.

Spagna

Lo stesso moderatore s’incarica della lettura della relazione. La Spagna ha appena due comunità che si sono poste come obiettivo: mantenere viva nella chiesa locale l’interesse e l’impegno verso la missione ad gentes. Si lavora assieme ad altre forze missionarie, in particolare con le PP.OO.MM., in attività di formazione, di spiritualità, di iniziative di animazione (campagne, incontri, camminate ecc.), di stampa (il bimensile Misioneros Javerianos – 34.000 copie), di campi di lavoro con i giovani in Marocco, con finalità vocazionale.

C’è il desiderio di creare un gruppo di giovani più legati a noi, alle nostre comunità, con un itinerario formativo, e così poter offrire loro percorsi di discernimento e accompagnamento. “Viviamo in tempi di incertezza e di semina, conducendo il nostro servizio di animazione missionaria e vocazionale fiduciosi della Parola di Dio e del Signore che ci invia e ci accompagna”.

Italia

Rosario Giannattasio presenta la relazione la cui redazione ha avuto un processo di preparazione con la partecipazione delle varie comunità saveriane. La Regione italiana conta 13 comunità con 169 confratelli. Le statistiche mostrano l’invecchiamento dei saveriani italiani nel mondo. Nel prossimo decennio in Italia ci avvicineremo all’età media degli 80 anni.

Le priorità della Regione sono: la formazione, l’animazione missionaria vocazionale, l’accoglienza dei confratelli anziani e ammalati, il sostegno economico delle missioni.

Per quanto riguarda il primo aspetto, si constata che la Formazione Permanente è l’anello più debole. Circa lo studentato internazionale di Parma si riconoscono aspetti positivi ma anche dei limiti.

Sull’AMV si nota invece il bisogno di un pensiero e di criteri condivisi tra l’AMV e la Cultura Missionaria per un progetto unitario: si chiede chiarezza per armonizzare le poche energie e le reali esigenze, per lavorare in sinergia, approfondire il raggio d’azione e inserirsi sempre più nell’ambiente pastorale.

L’accoglienza dei confratelli anziani e ammalati è un lavoro encomiabile e gli sforzi sono ardui. La Regione prevede il ritorno di 150 saveriani nei prossimi anni.

Sulla missione ad gentes si invita a riflettere intorno a una nuova visione, ben espressa nell’Evangelii Gaudium (cfr. EG 23). Ci sono realtà di missione ad gentes anche in Italia.

Circa il sostegno economico, si è camminato in questi anni verso una ristrutturazione logistica delle case e delle attività. Il peso delle strutture e il calo delle offerte, hanno spinto a valutare e a ridimensionare, non senza provocare resistenze.

I delegati della Regione Italia chiedono al capitolo generale: di studiare la viabilità delle Teologie, la formazione dei formatori e dei coordinatori di comunità; un numero sufficiente e programmato di personale nel campo dell’AMV e nell’assistenza ai confratelli ammalati; una nuova visione di missione derivante dall’Evangelii Gaudium; la possibile unione della Procura alla Regione Italiana.

Il quinto giorno del XVII Capitolo Generale termina così alle 12:15, lasciando libero il pomeriggio di sabato e tutto il giorno della domenica. Alcuni capitolari visiteranno i nostri confratelli di Vicenza e altri quelli della Casa Madre di Parma.

Il Capitolo riprende lunedì mattina, 7 agosto, con la relazione della Regione del Regno Unito.

Spain

The same moderator is responsible for reading the report. Spain has just two communities that have the goal: to keep alive in the local church the interest and commitment to the mission ad gentes. The community works together with other mission forces, in particular with PP.OO.MM., in training, spirituality, animation initiatives (campaigns, encounters, pilgrimages, etc.), printing (the biennial Misioneros Javerianos - 34,000 Copies) of youth work camps in Morocco, with a vocational purpose.

There is a desire to create a group of young people more attached to us, to our communities, with a formation component, and thus offer them ways of discernment and accompaniment. "We live in times of uncertainty and sowing, conducting our missionary and vocational animation service, confident of the Word of God and of the Lord who sends and accompanies us."

Italy

Fr. Rosario Giannattasio presented the report whose drafting had a preparation process with the participation of the various Xaverian communities. The Italian Region has 13 communities with 169 confreres. The statistics show the aging of Italian Xaverians in the world. Over the next decade in Italy, we will approach the average age of 80.

The priorities of the Region are: formation, vocational missionary animation, the reception of elderly and sick confreres, the economic support of missions.

With regard to the first aspect, it is found that Permanent Formation is the weakest link. Regarding the Parma international student community there is recognized positive aspects but also limitations.

On the other hand, the AMV service needs to improve a common thinking and criteria between AMV and the Missionary Culture for a united project: it calls for clarity to harmonize the few energies and real needs, to work in synergy, to deepen the engagement and become more and more involved in the pastoral situations.

The reception of elderly and sick confreres is a commendable work and efforts are arduous. The region projects that 150 senior Xaverians will return to Italy in the coming years.

On the mission ad gentes the regional community is invited to reflect around a new vision, well expressed in the Gaudium Gospel (see EG 23). There are realities of ad gentes mission also in Italy.

About financial support, the community has moved these years towards a logical need for restructuring of places and services. The weight of structures and the drop donations have pushed us to evaluate and resize, not without causing resistance. The delegates from the Region of Italy ask the general chapter: to study the viability of the International Theologies, the training of trainers and community coordinators; A sufficient and planned number of staff in the field of AMV and assistance to sick confreres; A new vision of mission derived from the Evangelii Gaudium; The possible move of the Procure in Parma to the Italian Region.

The fifth day of the XVII General Chapter ended at 12:15 am, leaving free Saturday afternoon and all day of Sunday. Some capitulars will visit our confreres in Vicenza and others in the Mother House of Parma.

The Chapter resumes on Monday morning, August 7, with the report of the UK Region.
