PARMA, 22 Giugno 2024 – Durante la conferenza della COSUMA 2024 è stato presentato il libro “Benedetti Ragazzi”, Lisa Zuccarini ha raccontato il viaggio che l’ha portata a scrivere la biografia dei quattro martiri di cui tre saveriani, uccisi in Congo il 28 novembre 1964. Questi martiri saranno beatificati il prossimo 18 agosto, un evento che li consacrerà nella storia della Chiesa cattolica.

Un Incontro Trasformativo

Lisa Zuccarini, che si autodefinisce più mamma che scrittrice, ha spiegato come il suo percorso sia iniziato per caso, influenzato da un profondo desiderio di raccontare la fede in un modo accessibile e autentico. 

“Non mi definisco una scrittrice. Sono diventata autrice di libri per un caso misterioso”, ha confessato, delineando un ritratto di sé come una persona che ha trovato una vocazione nella cura e nella narrazione.

La Zuccarini ha sottolineato l’importanza dei social media nel diffondere messaggi di fede, un mezzo che le ha permesso di raggiungere un vasto pubblico. 

È stato proprio attraverso i social che è stata notata da Padre Faustino, il quale l’ha invitata a contribuire con la sua scrittura alla causa dei martiri saveriani.

Il Congo, inizialmente una realtà astratta per l’autrice, è diventato il fulcro del suo studio e della sua narrazione. “L’incontro con queste figure dei martiri è stato davvero un incontro umanamente profondo”. 

“È bello avere questi prossimi beati come amici”, ha detto Zuccarini, rivelando quanto fosse complesso approcciarsi a un contesto sociopolitico e geografico a lei sconosciuto.

La biografia si concentra sui quattro martiri: Luigi, Giovanni, Vittorio e Albert. Ognuno di loro viene presentato nella propria umanità e profondità spirituale.

Zuccarini ha scelto di raccontare il martirio senza dettagli cruenti, concentrandosi sulle intenzioni e i sentimenti dei martiri. “Ho cercato di raccontare questo giorno senza scendere nei dettagli cruenti del martirio”, ha detto, spiegando come fosse cruciale capire le motivazioni e i sentimenti che hanno guidato questi uomini nel loro sacrificio.

Un Messaggio per l’Oggi

Nel rispondere alle domande del pubblico, Zuccarini ha evidenziato come le vite dei martiri possano offrire un potente messaggio all’Italia di oggi. In un’epoca di grande comunicazione ma scarsa testimonianza, questi martiri mostrano la forza di una vita coerente e sacrificata per gli altri.

“Oggi c’è una fame di amore. Nessuno è in grado di dare la vita per gli altri. Questo è forse il messaggio che questi martiri possono dare a noi oggi”, ha affermato.

PARMA, June 22, 2024 - During the COSUMA 2024 conference, Lisa Zuccarini presented “Blessed Boys” her latest book. Zuccarini recounted the journey that led her to write the biography of the four martyrs, three of whom were Xaverians killed in Congo on November 28, 1964. These martyrs will be beatified on August 18, an event that will consecrate them in the history of the Catholic Church.

A Transformative Meeting

Lisa Zuccarini, who defines herself more as a mother than a writer, explained how her path began by chance, influenced by a deep desire to tell faith in an accessible and authentic way.

“I don’t consider myself a writer. I became a book author by a mysterious chance,” she confessed, painting a picture of herself as someone who found a vocation in care and storytelling.

From Care to Storytelling

Zuccarini emphasized the importance of social media in spreading messages of faith, a means that allowed her to reach a wide audience.

It was through social media that she was noticed by Father Faustino, who invited her to contribute with her writing to the cause of the Xaverian martyrs.

A Journey of Discovery

Congo, initially an abstract reality for the author, became the focus of her study and storytelling. “The encounter with these figures of the martyrs was truly a profoundly human encounter.”

“It is wonderful to have these future blessed as friends,” Zuccarini said, revealing how complex it was to approach a sociopolitical and geographical context unknown to her.

The Lives of the Martyrs

The biography focuses on the four martyrs: Luigi, Giovanni, Vittorio, and Albert. Each of them is presented in their humanity and spiritual depth.

Zuccarini chose to start from the day of their martyrdom, November 28, 1964, and then return to their lives, their family relationships, and their vocation.

• Luigi is described as a deeply spiritual man, devout, and able to bring young people closer to the mission.
• Giovanni, with an emotional and exuberant character, is remembered for his tireless work and strong devotion to Mary.

Zuccarini chose to narrate the martyrdom without gruesome details, focusing on the intentions and feelings of the martyrs. “I tried to tell this day without going into the gruesome details of the martyrdom,” she said, explaining how crucial it was to understand the motivations and feelings that guided these men in their sacrifice.

A Message for Today

In answering questions from the audience, Zuccarini highlighted how the lives of the martyrs can offer a powerful message to today’s Italy. In an era of great communication but little testimony, these martyrs show the strength of a coherent life sacrificed for others. 

“Today there is a hunger for love. No one can give their life for others. This is perhaps the message that these martyrs can give us today,” she stated.
