Il 20 maggio 2025, la Chiesa cattolica e l’insieme del mondo cristiano fanno memoria con gratitudine e gioia dell’apertura del Concilio di Nicea del 325: “Il Concilio di Nicea è una pietra miliare nella storia della Chiesa. Il suo anniversario invita i cristiani a unirsi nella lode e nell’azione di grazie alla santa Trinità e in particolare a Gesù Cristo, il Figlio di Dio ‘consustanziale al Padre’, che ci ha rivelato questo mistero d’amore…” (papa Francesco).

Il desiderio di novità, che alberga nel cuore di ogni uomo e di ogni donna, è così saziato unicamente da “la novità” di Cristo (“il Novus”).

On May 20^th, 2025, the Catholic Church and the Christian world will commemorate with gratitude and joy the opening of the Council of Nicaea in 325: “The Council of Nicaea is a milestone in the history of the Church. Its anniversary invites Christians to unite in praise and thanksgiving to the Holy Trinity and in particular to Jesus Christ, the Son of God ‘consubstantial with the Father’, who revealed to us this mystery of love.” (Pope Francis)

The desire for newness, which dwells in the heart of every man and woman, is thus satisfied solely by ‘the newness’ of Christ (‘the Novus’).
