Domenica 16 maggio 2021 si celebrerà la 55ma Giornata Mondiale delle Comunicazioni Sociali. Nel suo messaggio, papa Francesco afferma che l’invito “Vieni e vedi” giovanneo è il modo con cui la fede cristiana si è comunicata. Con un’immagine audace, il papa dichiara che un’informazione costruita nelle redazioni, davanti al computer, ai terminali delle agenzie, sulle reti sociali, senza mai uscire per strada, senza più “consumare le suole delle scarpe”, senza incontrare persone per cercare storie o verificare de visu certe situazioni sarà sempre una comunicazione incompiuta.

Sunday, May 16^th – 2021, the 55^th World Social Communications Day will be celebrated.  In his message, Pope Francis affirms that Jesus’ invitation “come and see” in the Gospel of St John is the way in which the Christian faith has been communicated. With the use of an incisive image, the Pope declares that information built in newsrooms, in front of a computer, in the offices of information agencies, on social networks, without ever going out on the streets, without “consuming the soles of our own shoes”, without meeting personally the people to find out their experiences and verify with one’s own eyes the truth of real situations, will always remain an unfinished communication.
