In risposta al numero 57 della nostra Regola Fondamentale, che chiede agli educatori di introdurre gradualmente i nostri studenti allo studio di discipline che potrebbero poi rivelarsi utili per la missione, la comunità internazionale del Pre-noviziato e del Noviziato di Bujumbura - Burundi ha organizzato un'esperienza di immersione per i Pre-novizi. L'immersione è durata un mese (dal 6 gennaio al 7 febbraio 2025) in un ambiente sostanzialmente non ecclesiale. I 33 Pre-novizi sono stati inviati in vari campi di formazione che avevano anche lo scopo di farli familiarizzare con l'ambiente lavorativo, socioculturale e religioso sia in città che in campagna. I campi di formazione sono stati: Multimedia (6), Mastering audio (5), Arte culinaria (3), Manutenzione computer (4), Garage (3), Costruzione (1) Saldatura (2), Agropastorale (4), Lingua francese (5). 

Ascoltando i vari feedback dai luoghi di immersione e l'autovalutazione dei beneficiari della formazione, nonostante le difficoltà legate alle lingue per alcuni, l'esperienza è stata significativa. Li ha aiutati ad acquisire nuove conoscenze, a riflettere sulle loro motivazioni vocazionali e a conoscere meglio la realtà del mondo professionale inserendosi nella società burundese. Siamo grati alle persone e alle istituzioni che hanno accolto i nostri Pre-novizi e attendiamo con speranza di poter sfruttare al meglio il risultato di questa prima esperienza di immersione. Responding to the number 57 of our Fundamental Rule that asks the educators to gradually introduce our students to the study of disciplines which may later prove useful for mission, the International community of  Pre-novitiate and  Novitiate of Bujumbura, Burundi, organized a live in  (immersion) experience for the Pre-novices. The immersion lasted one month (January 6th- February 7th, 2025) in a basically non-churchy/ecclesial environment. The 33 Pre-novices were dispatched in various fields of formation aimed also at familiarizing them with work, socio-cultural, and religious environment both in town and in the countryside. The fields of formation were: Multimedia (6), Audio mastering (5), Culinary art (3), Computer maintenance (4), Garage (3), Construction (1), Welding (2), Agropastoral (4), French language (5). 

Listening to the various feedback from the places of their live-in and the self-evaluation of the beneficiary of the formation, despite the difficulties related to the languages for some, the experience was meaningful. It helped them to acquire new knowledge, to reflect on their vocation motivations and to be familiar with the reality of the professional world while inserting themselves into the larger society in Burundi. We are grateful to the people and institutions that welcomed our Pre-novices and we are looking forward to maximize the outcome of this first experience of immersion. (Cassien Nshimirimana sx)
