Giovedì 14 dicembre 2023, durante l’udienza concessa al Cardinale Marcello Semeraro, Prefetto del Dicastero delle Cause dei Santi, il Santo Padre ha autorizzato il medesimo Dicastero a promulgare i Decreti. Tra questi anche quello riguardante il martirio dei Servi di Dio Luigi Carrara sx e Giovanni Didonè sx, Sacerdoti professi della Pia Società di San Francesco Saverio per le Missioni Estere, Vittorio Faccin sx, Religioso professo della medesima Pia Società, e Albert Joubert, Sacerdote diocesano; uccisi in odio alla fede (in odium fidei) il 28 novembre 1964 a Baraka e a Fizi, Repubblica Democratica del Congo.

BARAKA AND FIZI (RDC): PROMULGATION OF DECREES OF THE DICASTERY FOR THE CAUSES OF SAINTS (14.12.2023)

On Thursday, December 14th, 2023, during the audience granted to Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, prefect of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, the Holy Father authorized the same Dicastery for the Causes of Saints to promulgate the decrees. Among these there is also the one concerning the martyrdom of the Servants of God Luigi Carrara s.x. and Giovanni Didonè s.x., professed priests of the Pious Society of Saint Francis Xavier for the Foreign Missions, Vittorio Faccin s.x., professed religious of the same Society, and Albert Joubert, diocesan priest; killed out of hatred for the faith (in odium fidei) on 28 November 1964 in Baraka and in Fizi, Democratic Republic of Congo.
