Martedì 22 luglio 2025, il sindaco di Bukavu, il Signor Ladys MUGANZA WAKANDWA, ha inaugurato il viale intitolato al Missionario Saveriano che ha fondato, costruito e organizzato per 20 anni l'Institut Supérieur Pédagogique de Bukavu (ISP). Nel suo decreto n. 401/BURG/M.BKV/372/2025, egli “riconosce i meriti civili di padre Dominique Milani, i suoi enormi servizi e risultati nella Repubblica Democratica del Congo, e più in particolare all'ISP”. Per questo motivo sta rinominando la strada che prima si chiamava Avenue ISP. Questa strada è stata ribattezzata e d'ora in poi porterà il nome di “Avenue Père Dominique Milani”. Il viale si snoda dall'incrocio ISP, passa davanti alla parrocchia Mater Dei, fondata dai Saveriani, fa girare intorno alla zona EDAP e si unisce alla strada che porta ad Essence. Alla cerimonia hanno partecipato le autorità accademiche dell'ISP, i cristiani della cappellania cattolica dell'ISP e alcuni Missionari Saveriani. Il Sindaco ha esortato i Saveriani, in collaborazione con le autorità accademiche del ISP, a costruire un gigantesco busto all'ingresso di Avenue Père Dominique Milani. On Tuesday, July 22^nd, 2025, the mayor of Bukavu, Mr. Ladys MUGANZA WAKANDWA, inaugurated an avenue named after the Xaverian Missionary who founded, built and for 20 years managed the Institut Supérieur Pédagogique (ISP) of Bukavu. With decree NO. 401/BURG/M.BKV/372/2025, the Mayor “acknowledges the civic merits of Father Dominique Milani, his tremendous services and achievements in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and more specifically at ISP.” For this motivations, the street once known as Avenue ISP has now been renamed “Avenue Père Dominique Milani.” The avenue starts from the ISP crossroad, passes in front of the Mater Dei Parish founded by the Xaverians, turns around the EDAP zone and connects to the road leading to Essence. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the academic authorities of ISP, Christians from the catholic chaplaincy of ISP and some Xaverian missionaries. The mayor exhorted the Xaverians to build, in collaboration with the academic authorities of ISP, a giant bust at the start of Avenue Père Dominique Milani. (Barthélemy Kabwana Minani s.x.)
