In occasione della Giornata di Preghiera per i Martiri Saveriani, venerdì 8 ottobre 2021, tutti i Missionari Saveriani e le Missionarie di Maria - Saveriane che lavorano a Bukavu, si sono riuniti a Vamaro nella Cappella dei Martiri per affidare a Dio la vita dei coraggiosi missionari morti in missione. I partecipanti erano una sessantina, compresi i nostri giovani in formazione. P. Antonio Trettel sx ha tenuto una presentazione magistrale sui martiri saveriani nelle nostre varie missioni nel mondo. Poi la sorella Marie Dukuze Nyirankera (vicaria generale delle Missionarie di Maria - Saveriane) ha condiviso una commovente testimonianza sul martirio delle tre sorelle (Olga Raschietti, Lucia Pulici, Bernardetta Boggian) assassinate nella loro casa a Kamenge, periferia di Bujumbura, Burundi, il 7.09.2014. Dopo le loro presentazioni, c'è stata la preghiera dei vespri insieme, in memoria dei martiri. La serata è stata, infine, impreziosita dal pasto in comune e dalla danza missionaria. Friday, October 8^th, 2021, on the Day of Prayer for the Xaverian Martyrs, all Xaverians and Xaverian Sisters – Missionary of Mary that work in Bukavu have gathered at the Chapel of the Martyrs in Vamaro to entrust to God the lives of the courageous missionaries who died in mission. Participants were about sixty, including our young students. Fr. Antonio Trettel s.x. brilliantly introduced the Xaverian martyrs in our missions around the world. Subsequently, Marie Dukuze Nyirankera (Vicar General of the Xaverian Sisters – Missionaries of Mary) shared a poignant account of the martyrdom of the three Xaverian sisters (Olga Raschietti, Lucia Pulici and Bernardetta Boggian) who were murdered in their Kamenge home, in the outskirts of Bujumbura, Burundi, on September 7^th, 2014. After these presentations, participants prayed the Vespers together in the martyrs’ memory. Finally, the evening was enriched by a common dinner and a missionary dance.
