Il 7 febbraio 1975 raggiunsero il bel porto di Buenaventura (Colombia) i primi Misioneros Javerianos: Elio Cosma, Flavio Veronesi e José Jiménez Marín, invitati da Mons. Correa Yepes, Vicario Apostolico.
Furono assegnati alla parrocchia del Sacro Cuore (1975-1998) e successivamente alla parrocchia di Cristo Redentore (1984-2022).
Negli anni successivi di presenza Saveriana in Colombia, sono stati assunti impegni in una parrocchia a Cali (1984) e in un'altra a Bogotá (2001). A Medellín (2000) è stata aperta una casa di formazione per i giovani per la fase iniziale.
La terra di Colombia ha offerto al Signore due vocazioni saveriane.
Oggi i Saveriani in Colombia contano otto membri e attendiamo che la Provvidenza continui a benedirci con nuovi membri per proseguire l'opera missionaria che ci è stata affidata. (Eduardo García Mandillo sx)

COLOMBIA: THE PRESENCE OF MISIONEROS JAVERIANOS (07.02.1975)
On February 7th, 1975, the first Xaverian Missionaries – Elio Cosma, Flavio Veronesi, and José Jiménez Marín – arrived in the beautiful port of Buenaventura (Colombia) at the invitation of Bishop Correa Yepes, Vicar Apostolic.
They were assigned to the parish of the Sacred Heart (1975-1998) and later to the parish of Christ the Redeemer (1984-2022).
In the following years of Xaverian presence in Colombia, commitments were made to a parish in Cali (1984) and another in Bogotá (2001). In Medellín (2000), a first-stage formation house for young people was opened.
The land of Colombia has offered to the Lord two Xaverian vocations.
At present, we the Misioneros Javerianos in Colombia have eight members and expect Divine Providence to continue blessing us with new members to carry on the missionary work entrusted to us. (Eduardo García Mandillo sx)
