La crisi sanitaria, che attraversa il mondo, ha obbligato la Francia ad un secondo confinamento nell’autunno scorso, con tutte le conseguenze che ciò ha comportato. In maniera particolare a noi Saveriani sono mancati i due grandi appuntamenti di festa con gli amici: S. Guido e S. Francesco Saverio. Tuttavia, i contatti con le persone che ci conoscono e ci sostengono sono stati mantenuti grazie alla nostra cartolina di Buon Natale, che ha portato per così dire la nostra presenza in molte famiglie e case. E non è poca cosa, specialmente per quelle persone che sono state toccate dal virus.

Se le riunioni di festa sono state annullate, le celebrazioni liturgiche in parrocchia sono state mantenute e noi vi abbiamo partecipato attivamente, soprattutto celebrando le messe che il parroco di Nogent, P. Gilles, ci aveva affidato. Uniche occasioni di incontro diretto con la gente. L’obbligo di restare a casa ha reso certo la festa più sobria, ma più attenta alla fraternità tra di noi. Lo studio, nostra attività principale, ha fatto tuttavia valere i suoi diritti sul tempo che avevamo a disposizione! (Paolo Tovo s.x.)

The health crisis in the world has forced France to a second lock down last fall with all the consequences caused by it. Especially for us Xaverians we missed the two great special appointments with our friends: St. Guido and St. Francis Xavier. However we kept our contacts with friends and benefactors through our Christmas cards which brought our presence to many families. And this is not a small matter, especially for those people who have been affected by the virus.

Despite the cancellation of festive reunions, the liturgical celebrations in parishes were held and we have actively participated above all by presiding at the Masses that the pastor of Nogent, Fr. Gilles had assigned to us. It was the only opportunity we had for a close encounter with the people. The mandate to stay home made our feasts more sober but more attentive to our fraternity.
