Venerdì 23 e sabato 24 febbraio 2024, la comunità saveriana ospiterà, a nome del Comitato per il Dialogo Interreligioso dei Vescovi Scozzesi, il Simposio tra le fedi, al quale anche parteciperà. Si tratta di un’opportunità per riflettere e comprendere la ‘Esperienza Religiosa’ nella tradizione cristiana e per esplorare che cosa offre in questo momento agli incontri di dialogo interreligioso il dibattito contemporaneo sull’esperienza religiosa.

Abbiamo invitato dei membri della famiglia saveriana in Europa ad unirsi a noi per questo evento e ad approfittare di questa occasione per far ripartire il Forum Europeo con un incontro nella domenica del 25 febbraio. Speriamo che questo incontro iniziale nel dopo Capitolo Generale possa dare indicazioni ed idee su come il Forum opererà. Saranno presenti: per la Direzione Generale il p. Mauro Loda s.x., Vicario Generale; p. Paulin Batairwa Kubuya s.x., sottosegretario del Dicastero per il Dialogo Interreligioso; p. Paolo Tovo s.x., rappresentante della Delegazione Centrale; p. Rolando Ruiz Durán sx, superiore delegato della Spagna; e p. Filippo Rondi s.x. rappresentante della Regione Italiana. 

Visto il successo degli altri Centri di Studio Continentali, è nostra speranza che il Forum Europeo risponda alle necessità di una Chiesa che sta invecchiando e che deve rispondere ai cambiamenti sociali e culturali in atto nell’Europa e nel mondo occidentale. (Patrick Duffy s.x.)

On Friday February 23^rd and Saturday February 24^th, 2024, the Xaverian Community is hosting, on behalf of the Scottish Bishops Committee on Interreligious Dialogue and participate in an Interfaith Symposium that is an opportunity for reflection and understanding of ‘Religious Experience’ in the Christian Tradition and to explore what contemporary discourse in religious experience offers to current interreligious dialogue encounters. 

We have invited members of the Xaverian family in Europe to join us for this event and use it as an opportunity to re-start the European Forum with a meeting on Sunday February 25th. We are hoping that this initial meeting post General Chapter can give some guidance and ideas on how the Forum will operate. Present will be Fr. Mauro Loda sx, Vicar General from the General Direction, Fr. Paulin Batairwa Kubuya sx, who is the Under-secretary of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, Fr. Paolo Tovo sx, representing the Central Delegation, Fr. Rolando Ruiz Durán sx, the delegate Superior from Spain and Fr. Filippo Rondi sx, who is representing the Italian Region.

With the success of the other Continental Study Centres, we hope that the European Forum can meet the needs of a Church that is aging and a Church that needs to respond to the societal and cultural changes that are taking place in Europe and the Western world. (Patrick Duffy s.x.)
