“…colgo questa occasione, certamente poco adatta, per una piccola esitazione che mi ha colto vedendo le ultime fotografie di confratelli defunti (P. Antonio Chiofi e, oggi, P. Marcello Zurlo). Io li avevo conosciuti (molto bene!) da giovani... Vedere ora, come immagine 'ufficiale' che ne accompagna la breve biografia il loro volto segnato dalla malattia e dalla vecchiaia, mi ha fatto soffrire.  Sono miei fratelli carissimi, amati e stimati... Vorrei che - per tutti noi che li abbiamo conosciuti da giovani e anche per tutti coloro che non li hanno conosciuti da giovani - fosse lasciata in "memoria" ai posteri una foto più... bella, una foto di quando erano giovani!  Scusa questa condivisione "fraterna" ma è una mia confidenza… (da un confratello)

“I take this opportunity, which is not the most appropriate occasion, to express my uneasiness at the view of the last photos of our deceased confreres (Fr. Antonio Chiofi and, today, Fr. Marcello Zurlo). I got to know them (and knew them very well!) when they were young men. … Now, to see the ‘official’ portrait that accompanies their brief biographical sketch with their face marked by illness and old age made me suffer. They are my most beloved and esteemed brothers … I would like – for all of us who met them at a young age and for all those who did not meet them when they were young – a more beautiful photo to be left in ‘memory’ for posterity, a photo of them when they were young!
