Papa Francesco, ricevendo in udienza venerdì 30 agosto 2024 i partecipanti all’assemblea plenaria straordinaria del Dicastero per l’Evangelizzazione - Sezione per la prima evangelizzazione e le nuove Chiese particolari, ha sottolineato che l’ “evangelizzazione della cultura e l’inculturazione del Vangelo sono due cose che vanno sempre insieme per vivere da cristiani aperti nell’odierna società plurale”. Infine, ha esortato a non avere paura della sana creatività affinché le università, comunità di sapere e conoscenza, evitino il rischio che gli studi siano ridotti al mero adempimento di lezioni, crediti ed esami.
I lavori della Plenaria (29-30 agosto 2024) si sono incentrati su identità, missione, aspettative e futuro della Pontificia Università Urbaniana, istituzione fondata circa 400 anni fa per sostenere le Chiese di tutto il mondo nella loro opera apostolica di annuncio del Vangelo.
DICASTERY FOR EVANGELISATION: “EVANGELIZING CULTURES AND INCULTURATING THE GOSPEL”
During an audience granted on Friday, August 30th, 2024, to the participants of the extraordinary plenary assembly of the Dicastery for Evangelisation – Section for First Evangelisation and New Local Churches –, Pope Francis stressed that “evangelising culture and inculturating the Gospel must always go together in order to live in today’s pluralistic society as open Christians.” He then urged not to be afraid of healthy creativity so that universities, communities of knowledge and learning, avoid the risk of reducing studying to mere lectures, credits and exams.
The Plenary Assembly (August 29th-30th, 2024) focused on identity, mission, expectations and future of the Pontifical Urbaniana University – an institution founded about 400 years ago to support Churches the world over in their work of proclamation of the Gospel.
