Vorrei rendere un omaggio speciale a tutti voi, missionari, passati e presenti, che vi siete dedicati - senza badare al prezzo da pagare - al compito di trasmetterci la luce della fede cristiana. In effetti, la notevole crescita della Chiesa in questo Paese è dovuta principalmente al vostro coraggioso e generoso servizio e dedizione. Oggi vi saluto per il servizio entusiasta che avete reso nel corso degli anni e che continuate a rendere alla Diocesi attraverso i vostri diversi apostolati. Vi ricordiamo con la convinzione che avete ancora un ruolo indispensabile da svolgere nella vita della diocesi di Makeni. Inoltre, il lavoro missionario non si limita solo a seminare il seme della fede o a gettare le fondamenta, poi lavarsi le mani e partire, ma è anche quello di abilitare, potenziare, consolidare e sostenere. Pertanto, la vostra missione ad gentes nella Diocesi e nel Paese è tutt’altro che finita. I would like to pay a special tribute to you all Missionaries, past and present, who have devoted yourselves, without counting the cost, to the task of transmitting the light of the Christian faith to us. Indeed, the remarkable growth of the Church in this country is due principally to your heroic and selfless dedication and service. Today I salute you for the devoted service you have rendered over the years and continue to render to the Diocese through your various apostolates. Please be strongly reminded that that you still have an indispensable role to play in the life of the Diocese of Makeni. Besides missionary work is not only limited to sowing the seed of faith or laying the foundation, then you wash your hands and leave, but is is also to enable, empower consolidate and sustain. Therefore, your mission ad gentes in the Diocese and in the country is far from complete.
