La comunità saveriana di Gounou-Gaya ha vissuto un momento intenso di vita cristiana da venerdì 6 maggio a domenica 8 Maggio: la prima visita pastorale del nostro nuovo Vescovo, Mons. Dominique Tinoudji, che è terminata Domenica 8 Maggio con la concelebrazione eucaristica presieduta dal Vescovo, all’interno della quale hanno ricevuto il sacramento della Cresima 119 persone della nostra comunità cristiana. Durante questi tre giorni il Vescovo ha visitato le tre scuole cattoliche presenti nel nostro territorio, ha incontrato il Consiglio Parrocchiale allargato alla presenza di tutte le realtà pastorali del nostro territorio, e si è abbondantemente intrattenuto in un lungo ed interessante colloquio coi cresimandi il sabato pomeriggio.

Questa visita pastorale avviene in un momento importante della nostra presenza saveriana a Gounou-Gaya: dopo infatti 40 anni di evangelizzazione in questi luoghi, nel nostro recente Capitolo Regionale noi Saveriani abbiamo deciso di consegnare al clero diocesano la guida pastorale delle due parrocchie che ci vennero affidate nel 1982. La visita pastorale e la celebrazione delle Confermazioni sono così divenute anche un momento di ringraziamento alla nostra famiglia religiosa per il lungo ed appassionato servizio compiuto nella terra Mussey per l’annuncio del Vangelo. La celebrazione si è svolta nella gioia, ed all’interno di un clima di eccezionale fraternità. (Sergio Galimberti sx)

The Xaverian community of Gounou-Gaya experienced an intense moment of Christian life during the first pastoral visit by our new Bishop, Msgr. Dominique Tinoudji, from Friday, May 6^th, to Sunday, May 8^th. The visit ended on Sunday with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Bishop. In the course of the celebration 119 people of our Christian community received the sacrament of Confirmation.  During those three days, the Bishop visited three Catholic schools present in our territory, encouraged the Parish Council, which was enlarge to include the participation of all pastoral aspects of our territory, and on Saturday afternoon spent abundant time to dialogue with the confirmands.

The pastoral visit came at an important time for our Xaverian presence in Gounou-Gaya. In fact, after 40 years of evangelisation in these places, in our last Regional Chapter we Xaverian decided to give back to the diocesan clergy the pastoral leadership of the two parishes which were entrusted to us in 1982. Thus, the pastoral visit and the administration of the Sacrament of Confirmation became also the moment for a thanksgiving to our religious family, an expression of gratitude for the long and committed service given to the proclamation of the Gospel in this Mussey land.
