In occasione delle celebrazioni per il mese missionario, domenica 6 ottobre, dalle 14:00 alle 16:15, presso la chiesa di Izumisano, si è tenuta la preghiera del Rosario missionario. All’evento hanno partecipato circa ottanta fedeli, tra cui una quindicina di bambini e ragazzi, e una ventina di stranieri provenienti da paesi come le Filippine, il Vietnam e l’Uganda. Erano presenti anche cinque missionari saveriani, due sorelle saveriane e un prete diocesano.
Durante il raduno, i partecipanti hanno ascoltato la storia delle missioni e la situazione della Chiesa nei cinque continenti. La preghiera del Rosario missionario è stata recitata in forma breve per ogni continente (un Padre Nostro, tre Ave Maria e un Gloria). Due missionarie saveriane hanno condiviso le loro testimonianze sulla vita in missione in Brasile e sui loro 60 anni di vita consacrata. Un prete mozambicano della Congregazione “Boa Nova” ha parlato della missione in Mozambico. Inoltre, un gruppo di fedeli provenienti dalle Filippine ha eseguito una danza con candele colorate, rappresentando i cinque continenti.
I bambini e i ragazzi hanno partecipato attivamente alla preghiera attraverso l’attività “Rosario fatto a mano”, guidati dai leader. Hanno mostrato grande entusiasmo e alla fine hanno portato a casa il loro Rosario fatto a mano come ricordo del mese missionario.
Il raduno comprendeva anche una pausa di 15 minuti per un rinfresco e un momento di socializzazione. La celebrazione si è conclusa con la benedizione finale e uno snack per i bambini e i ragazzi. As part of the celebrations for the Missionary Month, on Sunday October 6th, from 2:00 to 4:15 p.m., a prayer service with a Missionary Rosary was held at the church in Izumisano. The event was attended by about eighty faithful, including about fifteen children and young people, and twenty foreigners from countries such as the Philippines, Vietnam and Uganda. In attendance there were also five Xaverian missionaries, two Xaverian sisters and a diocesan priest.
During the meeting, participants listened to the history of the missions and a report on the present situation of the Church in the five continents. The Rosary was prayed following the abridged form (one Our Father, three Hail Mary and one Glory). Two Xaverian sisters shared their experience of missionary life in Brazil and their 60 years of consecrated life. A Mozambican priest belonging to the Congregation “Boa Nova” (Good News) talked about mission in Mozambique. And a group of faithful from the Philippines performed a dance with coloured candles representing the five continents.
Led by their educators, children and teenagers took active part in the prayer through the activity “Hand-made Rosary.” They showed great enthusiasm and at the end they took home their handmade Rosary as a memento of the missionary month.
The gathering included a 15-minute break for refreshments and a moment of socialisation. The celebration ended with a final blessing and a snack for the children and young people. Hopefully, this event will bear fruits for the future of the mission in this land. (Romualdus Juang sx)
