Nei giorni scorsi si è abbattuta sul Giappone una ingente inondazione che ha colpito diversi distretti provocando danni e vittime mai sperimentati in questi ultimi decenni a causa di alluvioni. Si parla tutt’oggi (11/07 ndr) di 160 morti, 70 dispersi, migliaia di case inondate e centinaia di migliaia di persone evacuate.

I luoghi colpiti si trovano proprio nella fascia intermedia delle due zone in cui i saveriani sono presenti nella loro attività missionaria, e fortunatamente sono state risparmiate dai danni le chiese e le case a loro affidate.

The massive floods that struck Japan in recent days affected various regions, causing damage and fatalities. As of 11 July, 160 people have died, 70 are dispersed and thousands of houses have been flooded and hundreds of thousands have had to evacuate.

The affected places are located between the two areas in which the Xaverians are working; fortunately the churches and houses entrusted to them were not affected by the flooding.
