La Risonanza di questa settimana sulla Lettera Testamento ci giunge dal Bangladesh ed è scritta dal nostro confratello p. Gabriele Spiga: le ultime righe della Lettera Testamento mi hanno sempre affascinato e, anche se non ci siamo mai visti, in quelle parole mi sento abbracciare forte forte, e il suo affetto mi commuove. P. Gabriele Spiga si trova in Bangladesh dal 1972. Svolge la sua attività a Bagachara (distretto di Jessore) nel Centro per Disabili.  P. Gabriele ha iniziato un’esperienza di nuove vie di presenza cristiana tra i mussulmani, attraverso la testimonianza del servizio. Ha costruito una casa molto semplice, dove accoglie disabili di tutte le religioni, facendo vita in comune. Si tratta di una presenza di basso profilo dove insegna diverse manualità per affrontare degnamente la disabilità. Si è specializzato nella cura e pulizia delle piaghe da decubito in particolare dei disabili.

This week, the ‘Echo’ of the Testament Letter comes from Bangladesh and is written by our confrere Fr. Gabriele Spiga. He writes: I have always been fascinated by the last lines of the Testament Letter. Although we (the Founder and I) have never met, in reading those words I feel as if were warmly embraced, and such affection moves me. Fr. Gabriele Spiga has been in Bangladesh since 1972. He works in the Centre for the Disabled in Bagachara (Jessore District). Through the witness of service, Fr. Gabriele has initiated a series of new experiences of Christian presence among Muslims. He has built a very simple house where disabled people from all religious faiths are welcomed and share life together. While maintaining a low-profile presence, he teaches various manual skills that enable people to face their disabilities with dignity. He has specialized in the treatment and cleaning of bedsores, especially of those of people with disabilities.
