Quest'anno la celebrazione della Giornata Mondiale della Vita Consacrata è iniziata in casa con il ritiro predicato, nel pomeriggio del 1° febbraio, dal giovane confratello p. Jean-Claude Chobohwa Aganze sx, attualmente Vicario nella nostra Parrocchia San Bernardo. Il tema della riflessione suggerito è stato “Consacrati nella Verità”.
Il giorno successivo, 2 febbraio, con gioia, tutti i confratelli del Teologato si sono ritrovati insieme ai Religiosi e alle Religiose dell'arcidiocesi di Kinshasa nella cattedrale di Notre Dame del Congo. Qui la celebrazione è iniziata con la recita del Rosario e la benedizione delle candele davanti alla grotta. Da lì, una lunga processione è entrata nella cattedrale per l'Eucaristia presieduta dall'arcivescovo, il cardinale Ambongo.
Nell'omelia, il Cardinale ha particolarmente insistito sul legame tra servizio e gioia. Riferendosi, poi, al magistero di papa Francesco, ha ribadito che la vita di un religioso o di una religiosa ha senso solo se al servizio di Dio e del prossimo.
Come di consueto, non sono mancati i canti e le gioiose danze. Il Vangelo è stato proclamato all’assemblea seduta, come segno di ascolto deferente e fiducioso.
Dopo la messa è seguita l’ agape fraterna. Ogni famiglia religiosa ha portato alcune pietanze. Siamo stati tutti invitati a prendere il cibo dal piatto preparato da altre congregazioni e consumarlo insieme a fratelli e sorelle di famiglie religiose diverse dalla propria. Nessuno poteva prendere dal proprio piatto. Secondo la sapienza popolare, quando c’è cibo per qualcuno, vuol dire che ce n’è anche per altri. E per mangiare insieme non è necessario annunciarsi in anticipo. (Katindi Ramazani sx)
This year, the celebration of World Day for Consecrated Life began in our house, in the afternoon of February 1st, with a spiritual retreat preached by our young confrere Fr. Jean-Claude Chobohwa Aganze s.x., who at present is vicar of St Bernard Parish. The theme he suggested for our reflection was “Consecrated in the Truth.”
The following day, February 2nd, all confreres joyfully met with the religious men and women of Kinshasa Archdiocese at Our Lady of the Congo Cathedral. The celebration began with the prayer of the Rosary and blessing of candles in front of the grotto. From there started a long procession that entered the cathedral for the Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Archbishop, Cardinal Ambongo.
In his homily, the Cardinal emphasised the bond between service and joy. Then, by drawing on pope Francis’ teachings, he reiterated that the life of a religious man or woman is meaningful only if placed at the service of God and others.
As usual, there were songs and joyful dances. At the proclamation of the Gospel, the assembly remained seated as a sign of deferential and trustful listening.
After Mass, a moment of fraternal agape followed. Each religious family had brought some food. We were invited to take food from dishes prepared by other congregations and eat it together with brothers and sisters from religious families different from our own. Nobody was allowed to take from his or her own dish. According to popular wisdom, if there is food for someone, there is food also for others. And to eat together, one needs not informing ahead of time about his participation. (Katindi Ramazani s.x.)
