La scorsa settimana si è concluso il corso di Confucianesimo, Induismo e Buddhismo offerto dai visiting professors Umberto Bresciani (da Taipei), p. Sergio Targa sx, e p. Tiziano Tosolini sx, nella Loyola School of Theology dell'Ateneo de Manila, Filippine. Il corso, obbligatorio per i Saveriani, ha visto quest'anno la nutrita presenza di una 30na di studenti. L'esperienza dell'insegnamento presso l’Ateneo di Manila di Umberto, Sergio e Tiziano è iniziata nel 2010 ed è molto apprezzata dal Centro Teologico che ha già richiesto di ripetere il corso il prossimo anno.  In aggiunta all'insegnamento all'Ateneo, p. Sergio Targa ha condiviso con la comunità la sua esperienza missionaria come Procuratore a Roma, mentre p. Tiziano Tosolini ci ha offerto una lezione sulla filosofia del tedesco Hans-Georg Gadamer. 

La presenza dei pp. Sergio e Tiziano nella nostra comunità di Teologia (Umberto quest'anno non è venuto nelle Filippine, ha dato, infatti, le sue lezioni via zoom da Taiwan) è stata molto apprezzata da tutti anche per la semplicità con cui si sono inseriti nella dinamica comunitaria. Rimane in animo la gratitudine per l'incontro con missionari che desiderano avere una conoscenza approfondita e competente della cultura e delle religioni, testimoniando come lo studio sia un importante strumento missionario ad gentes. Last week, the course on Confucianism, Hinduism and Buddhism offered at the Loyola School of Theology in the Ateneo de Manila, The Philippines, by the visiting professors Umberto Bresciani (from Taipei), Fr. Sergio Targa s.x. and Fr. Tiziano Tosolini s.x. came to an end. The course, which is mandatory for the Xaverians students, this year was characterised by the strong presence of more than 30 students. Umberto, Sergio and Tiziano’s teaching experience at the Ateneo de Manila started in 2010 and is very much appreciated by the Theological Centre, which has already asked them to repeat the course next year. In addition to teaching at the Ateneo, Fr. Sergio Targa has shared with the community his missionary experience as Procurator in Rome, while Fr. Tiziano Tosolini has offered the community a lesson on the philosophy of German thinker Hans-Georg Gadamer.

Fr. Sergio and Fr. Tiziano’s presence in our community of the Theologate (this year, Umberto did not come to the Philippines, instead taught on-line) was much appreciated for the simple manner in which they adapted to our community life. We are much grateful for the encounter with missionaries that wish to deepen the knowledge of culture and religions, thus demonstrating how research is an important means of mission ad gentes.
