Rafforzare le cappellanie universitarie:  1) per la crescita spirituale, 2) per l’impegno culturale e 3) per la creazione di comunità sono stati i tre obiettivi del I Convegno organizzato dal Dicastero per la Cultura e l’Educazione dal 23 al 24 novembre 2023 a Roma per i responsabili della pastorale universitaria e dei cappellani degli atenei cattolici.

Riflessioni e condivisione di “buone pratiche” al servizio della missione è stata la modalità del 1° Incontro di pastorale universitaria. 

La domanda “Tu che cosa vedi?” ha fatto da filo conduttore degli incontri, nella convinzione che la “visione” è una tappa importante nel processo di rivelazione della Parola di Dio e della risposta a tale Parola attraverso la profonda adesione del Popolo di Dio. Dio, infatti, parla anche attraverso la storia minuta e i suoi eventi ordinari. La “visione” ha un ruolo propulsivo, mette in discussione lo stato attuale delle cose, smuove il nostro comodismo da arrivati, fa emergere altre possibilità, fa da leva al presente rilanciandolo.

Al convegno ha partecipato anche il nostro confratello p. Michele Carlini, impegnato nella pastorale universitaria dell’ UNIMAK (Università di Makeni). UNIMAK è stata fondata dal nostro confratello + Giorgio Biguzzi, vescovo emerito di Makeni, nel 2005, come prima università cattolica e privata della Sierra Leone.

Strengthening university chaplaincies 1) for spiritual growth, 2) for cultural work and 3) for the creation of communities: these were the three objectives of the I° Meeting of University Chaplains and Pastoral Workers of Catholic universities (November 23^rd - 24^th, 2023) organised in Rome by the Dicastery for Culture and Education.

The method employed in this first meeting about ministry in universities was that of reflections on and sharing of “good practices” at the service of mission. Leading motif of the meeting was the question “What do you see?”, for the main conviction was that “vision” is an important stage in the process of the revelation of God’s Word and of the answer to such Word through the profound commitment of God’s people. In fact, God speaks also through the lesser history and its ordinary events. The “vision” has a propulsive role, it calls into question the current state of things, it shakes our comfortable feeling of being already arrived, it brings out other possibilities, it capitalises on the present by re-launching it.

Our confrere, Fr. Michele Carlini, took part in the conference. He is presently involved in university ministry at UNIMAK (University of Makeni). Founded in 2005 by our confrere Msgr. Giorgio Biguzzi, Bishop Emeritus of Makeni, UNIMAK is the first private Catholic university of Sierra Leone.
