Mercoledì 19 gennaio 2022, alle 15:00, il nostro confratello Paolo Succu sx, ha sostenuto la difesa della dissertazione di dottorato per ottenere il titolo di Sacrae Scripturae Doctor (SSD), Dottore in Sacra Scrittura, presso il Pontificio Istituto Biblico di Roma. Moderatore della tesi: Prof. Juan Manuel Granados, S.J. Il relatore: Prof. Jean-Noël Aletti, S.J.
La difesa è stata in modalità on-line (Giappone – Roma) e trasmessa su un canale «riservato» YouTube dell'Istituto.
Il titolo della tesi: At 17,22b-31: Il discorso all'areopago di Atene come discorso sulla vera conoscenza di Dio.
Scrive l’autore della tesi: “…il discorso all’Areopago si rivela così, non come un discorso filosofico-ellenistico sulla conoscenza naturale di Dio, che inaspettatamente si conclude con un epilogo cristiano, ma un annuncio che propone un mutamento nel modo stesso di conoscere il divino. ROME – PONTIFICAL BIBLICA INSTITUTE: DEFENCE OF THE DOCTORAL DISSERTATION
On Wednesday, January 19th 2022, at 3:00 p.m., our confrere Paolo Succu s.x. has passed the viva voce defence of his doctoral dissertation and obtained the title of Sacrae Scripturae Doctor (SSD), Doctor in Holy Scriptures, at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. Moderator of the examination: Prof. Juan Manuel Granados, S.J.; supervisor: Prof. Jean-Noël Aletti, S.J.
The defence took place on-line (Japan-Rome) and was broadcasted on the “reserved” YouTube channel of the Institute.
Title of the thesis: At 17,22b-31: Il discorso all'areopago di Atene come discorso sulla vera conoscenza di Dio. (At 17,22b-31: The Speech at the Areopagus of Athens as a Speech on the True Knowledge of God).
The author of the dissertation writes: “… thus, rather than being a philosophical and Hellenistic speech on natural knowledge of God with an unexpected Christian epilogue, the Areopagus Sermon appears to be a proclamation that proposes a shift in the very manner of knowing the divine. Such μετάνοια (metanoia) – and, therefore, the type of knowledge envisaged in the sermon – becomes possible by welcoming the final act revelatory of the creator and life-giver God: the resurrection of a man…”
