Nelle giornate di sabato 7 e domenica 8 giugno 2025 si è svolto un weekend di animazione missionaria organizzata dal Centro Missionario Diocesano della diocesi di Novaliches nella Mission Area di San Pedro Calungsod, Payatas, una zona molto povera dove molte persone vivono grazie alla raccolta e separazione dei rifiuti urbani. Sono stati presentati dei moduli sul tema della missione ad gentes a gruppi di bambini, giovani e adulti. Un’equipe, composta dal Movimento Fondacio, Saveriani, Laici Saveriani, Suore della Beata Vergine del Calvario e i loro laici ha lavorato nei mesi scorsi per la preparazione dei moduli di animazione. La risposta dei partecipanti (64 bambini, 48 giovani e 71 adulti), come pure quella del sacerdote incaricato della stazione missionaria è stata molto positiva, cosa che fa ben sperare di poter ripetere l’esperienza in altre parrocchie della diocesi. A weekend of missionary awareness organized by the Mission Awareness Ministry of the Diocese of Novaliches was held in the Mission Area of San Pedro Calungsod, Payatas, on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8. In this very poor area, many people make a living from collecting and segregating urban waste. Modules on the theme of mission ad gentes were presented to groups of children, youth and adults. A team composed of the Fondacio Movement, Xaverian Laity, Sisters of the Blessed Virgin of Calvary and their laity worked over the past months to prepare the animation modules. The response of the participants (64 children, 48 youth and 71), as well as that of the priest in charge of the mission station, was very positive, which bodes well for repeating the experience in other parishes in the diocese.
