Lunedì 2 febbraio 2026, nel pomeriggio, vari confratelli hanno partecipato alla celebrazione eucaristica presieduta dal vescovo di Roma, papa Leone XIV, nella Basilica di San Pietro in occasione della festa della Presentazione di Gesù e della XXX Giornata Mondiale della Vita Consacrata. Vogliamo qui evidenziare tre punti della riflessione fatta da papa Leone:

• Siete chiamati ad essere messaggeri e messaggere che annunciano la presenza del Signore e ne preparano la via. Per usare le espressioni di Malachia, che abbiamo ascoltato nella prima Lettura, essa vi invita a farvi, nel vostro generoso “svuotarvi” per il Signore, bracieri per il fuoco del Fonditore e vasi per la lisciva del Lavandaio (cfr Mal3,1-3), affinché Cristo, unico ed eterno Angelo dell’Alleanza, presente anche oggi tra gli uomini e donne, possa fonderne e purificarne i cuori con il suo amore, con la sua grazia e con la sua misericordia.
• Siete chiamati a testimoniare che Dio è presente nella storia come salvezza per tutti i popoli. A testimoniare che il giovane, l’anziano, il povero, il malato, il carcerato, hanno prima di tutto il loro posto sacro sul suo Altare e nel suo Cuore, e che al tempo stesso ciascuno di loro è un santuario inviolabile della sua presenza, davanti al quale piegare le ginocchia per incontrarlo, adorarlo e glorificarlo.
• Uomini e donne saldamente radicati nella realtà del presente, ma “sempre attenti alle cose di lassù”, siete chiamati a mostrare al mondo la via per superare i conflitti, seminando fraternità attraverso la libertà di chi ama e perdona senza misura. (Yakobus Sriyatmoko s.x.)

In the afternoon of Monday, February 2^nd, 2026, several confreres took part in a Eucharistic celebration presided over by the bishop of Rome, Pope Leo XIV, in St Peter Basilica to mark the feast of the Presentation of the Lord and the 30^th World Day of Consecrated Life. Here, we would like to highlight three points from the Pope Leo’s reflection:

• You are called to be messengers who announce the presence of the Lord and prepare the way for him. Borrowing expressions from the prophet Malachi, whom we heard in the first reading, you are invited to become, through the generous “emptying” of yourselves for the Lord, braziers for the Refiner’s fire and vessels for the Fuller’s soap (cf. Mal 3:1-3). Through this offering, Christ — the one eternal messenger of the covenant, who remains present among humanity today — can melt and purify hearts with his love, grace and mercy.
• You are called to bear witness to God’s saving presence in history for all peoples. You are called to testify that the young, the elderly, the poor, the sick and the imprisoned hold a sacred place above all else on God’s altar and in his heart. At the same time, each of them is an inviolable sanctuary of God’s presence, before whom we must bend our knee, in order to encounter him, adore him and give him glory.
• Men and women firmly rooted in the realities of the present, yet “always attentive to the things that are above”, you are called to show the world the way to overcome conflict, sowing fraternity through the freedom of those who love and forgive without measure. (Yakobus Sriyatmoko s.x.)
