Nel pomeriggio del 24 ottobre 2021, nella parrocchia madre di Sant'Ana de Laranjeiras do Sul (PR) è stata celebrata la messa di saluto e di ringraziamento dei Missionari Saveriani. L'Eucaristia è stata presieduta dal superiore regionale Rafael López Villaseñor sx e concelebrata da vari saveriani, insieme alla sentita partecipazione delle diverse comunità che compongono la parrocchia.

Quasi 62 anni fa la parrocchia di Sant'Ana veniva affidata ai Missionari Saveriani a Laranjeiras Do Sul. In quel periodo la diocesi di Toledo stava gettando le prime fondamenta e aveva bisogno di missionari per l'evangelizzazione e la formazione di nuove comunità. I Saveriani accettarono generosamente e con fiducia questa porzione del popolo di Dio. Ed è proprio qui a Laranjeiras Do Sul dove ricevettero il permesso di costruire un seminario per la formazione di nuovi missionari.

La famiglia missionaria ringrazia Dio Padre per il lavoro svolto da tanti Saveriani che hanno dedicato la loro vita al Regno di Dio in queste terre del Paranà. Il compito dell’Istituto si è concluso qui, ma continua la sfida missionaria di fare del mondo una famiglia nel Signore risorto. Preghiamo perché questo dono carismatico continui, con amicizia e affetto, nella vita di queste comunità. (Rafael López Villaseñor sx)

In the afternoon of October 24^th, 2021, a thanksgiving Mass was celebrated in the main church of St Anne of Laranjeiras do Sul (PR – Brazil) to greet the Xaverian Missionaries. The Eucharistic celebration, which was presided over by the Regional Superior, Fr. Rafael López Villaseñor s.x., and concelebrated by several Xaverians, was characterised by the heartfelt participation of the various communities composing the parish.

Almost 62 years ago, the parish of St Anne was entrusted to the care of the Xaverian Missionaries in Laranjeriras Do Sul. At that time, the Toledo Diocese was laying its foundations and needed missionaries for the evangelisation and formation of new communities. The Xaverians accepted to serve this portion of the people of God with generosity and faith. It was also in Laranjeiras Do Sul that they were given permission to build a seminary for the training of new missionaries.

Our missionary family thanks God the Father for the work carried out by so many Xaverians who dedicated their lives to God’s Reign in these lands of Paranà. The task of our Institute is now completed, but the missionary challenge of making the world one single family in the risen Lord continues. Let us pray that this charismatic gift may continue, with friendship and affection, in the life of these communities. (Rafael López Villaseñor s.x.)
