Ha avuto inizio giovedì 23 settembre il X Capitolo generale delle Missionarie di Maria - Saveriane a Parma con la celebrazione di apertura presso la cappella di Casa Madre. La messa è stata presieduta dal vescovo della città mons. Enrico Solmi con la partecipazione di don Luciano Genovesi, parroco di San Lazzaro. Alla cerimonia hanno preso parte, oltre alle 25 capitolari provenienti da vari Paesi, una rappresentanza delle sorelle della comunità. Il tema del X Capitolo è "rinnovarci insieme per la missione". Lo ha preceduto una lunga preparazione che ha visto coinvolta tutta la Congregazione. La scorsa settimana le capitolari hanno avuto degli incontri di approfondimento sul tema della missione ad gentes e dei cambiamenti che la riguardano. Hanno aiutato P. G. Ferrari sx e don Gianni Colzani.
Inoltre sono stati dedicati alcuni giorni alla preghiera, animata da p. Fernando Garcia, Superiore generale dei Missionari Saveriani, con l'intento di meglio disporsi alle giornate di discernimento che seguiranno nelle prossime settimane. P. Fernando nel pomeriggio di mercoledì ha condiviso anche il cammino e le scelte che l’Istituto sta facendo per meglio rispondere alle nuove sfide della missione ad gentes.

Thursday, September 23rd, the X General Chapter of the Xaverian Sisters Missionaries of Mary has begun in Parma with an opening celebration at the chapel of the Mother House. The Mass was presided over by Mons. Enrico Solmi, Bishop of the city, while Fr. Luciano Genovesi, pastor of St. Lazzaro Parish, concelebrated. In addition to the 25 members of the chapter arriving from various countries, a group of sisters of the local community took also part. The theme of the X Chapter is “renewing ourselves together for the mission.” The Chapter was preceded by a long preparation in which the whole Congregation has been involved. Last week, the participants to the Chapter attended meetings during which the subject of the mission ad gentes and the changes that affected it were discussed in depth. Fr. G. Ferrari s.x. and Fr. Giovani Colzani helped our reflections.
Moreover, some days were dedicated to prayer, which was animated by Fr. Fernando Garcia, General Superior of the Xaverian Missionaries, and whose aim was to prepare ourselves better for the days of discernment that will follow in the coming weeks. On Wednesday afternoon, Fr. Fernando has described the journey and the choices that his Institute is carrying out in order to meet the new challenges of the mission ad gentes in a better way.
