INTRODUZIONE
Il VI Convegno dei Rettori delle Teologie si è svolto a Roma, presso la sede della casa generalizia, dal 6 all’11 ottobre 2016, presenti i quattro rettori (da Manila, Yaoundé, Cd. De México e Parma) e la Direzione Generale. Il Convegno ha avuto come tema: «Coinvolti nel “sogno” del Conforti…, una comunità interculturale vive la propria vocazione missionaria». Sta cambiando la mappa culturale della Congregazione, la quale da una parte ha davanti a sé una prospettiva di futuro e dall’altra deve “applicarsi” per non rischiare di perdere l’identità carismatica in questo non ovvio sviluppo interculturale. Con chiarezza, abbiamo considerato varie situazioni che mostrano alcune serie crisi che toccano le nostre comunità di Teologia. L’apertura di cuore e mente allo Spirito Santo ci ha aiutato a riconoscere ciò che va tolto, evitato e mai giustificato (magari in nome di pseudo criteri culturali).
L’obiettivo dell’incontro non è stato di cercare nuovi sistemi per “bilanciare” improbabili equilibri psicologici o emozionali. Gli esperti (Giovanni Cucci, SJ e Don Méthode Gahungu) ci hanno guidato nell’analisi dell’epoca nella quale viviamo e operiamo e il suo rapporto con le sensibilità dei giovani dei vari continenti. Paure, il mondo digitale (internet), le varie interpretazioni della Vita Consacrata, incertezze esistenziali causate dalla cosiddetta cultura liquida e le molteplici esperienze personali, sono riflessioni e considerazioni che non sono state lasciate da parte.
Abbiamo preso coscienza che l’interculturalità, oltre ad essere una caratteristica tipica del nostro carisma, è già in sé un grande strumento formativo (una scuola di vita missionaria). È importante chiedere a ogni formando (e a ogni saveriano) di non distogliere gli occhi dal carisma in quanto una identità vocazionale forte non può che rafforzare anche il senso di appartenenza alla Famiglia saveriana, e qualificare il servizio missionario che la Congregazione sta offrendo.
Punto irrinunciabile di riferimento è la missione ad gentes, ad extra e ad vitam: il primo annuncio deve riposizionare anche la formazione di base e permanente. È questo ciò che ci costituisce come comunità interculturale intorno ad un progetto condiviso; per cui non ha valore questa o quella cultura, ma ognuno è spinto solamente dall’amore di Cristo all’annuncio e alla testimonianza del Vangelo. Il ruolo del formatore – ministro della vocazione – consiste proprio nell’aiutare i nostri giovani a verificare, purificare, approfondire, esplicitare e costruire le ragioni della chiamata. È il grande contributo che egli deve offrire per l’edificazione e la cura di una Famiglia saveriana sana, il miglior dono che avremo da offrire alla Missione.
Pubblichiamo gli ATTI di questo convegno in un’edizione tipografica più semplice (e più economica): due quaderni che raccolgono quasi tutti gli interventi fatti. È un materiale a disposizione di tutti, nella speranza che la Congregazione non dimentichi che…la formazione dei Saveriani, animata dallo Spirito, è opera d’insieme che coinvolge tutto l’Istituto, la famiglia, la parrocchia, la scuola, l’ambiente sociale e, in modo speciale, i giovani in formazione ed i loro educatori (C. 57).
INTRODUCTION
The VI Meeting of Theology Rectors took place in the Generalate House, Rome, in the week 6-11 October 2016. The four rectors (from Manila, Yaoundé, México City and Parma) and the General Direction discussed the topic: «Sharing in Conforti’s “dream” …, an intercultural community lives its missionary vocation». The cultural map of the Congregation is changing: on the one hand it has the perspective of the future, whilst on the other hand it must “apply itself” in order to avoid the risk of losing its charismatic identity in this uncertain intercultural development. With clarity, we considered various situations that reveal some serious crises that affect our Theology communities. Our openness of heart and mind to the Holy Spirit helped us to recognize what should be taken away, avoided and never justified (perhaps in the name of cultural pseudo-values).
The goal of the meeting was not to seek new systems for “stabilizing” improbable psychological or emotional equilibriums. The invited experts (Giovanni Cucci, SJ and Don Méthode Gahungu) guided us in the analysis of the times in which we are living and working and their relationship to the sensitivities of young people on the various continents. Fears, the digital world (internet), the various interpretations of the Consecrated Life, existential uncertainties caused by the so-called liquid culture and the multiple personal experiences, are all reflections and considerations that we kept in mind.
We became aware that interculturality, besides being a typical characteristic of our charism, is already in itself a great formation instrument (a school of missionary life). It is important to ask every candidate in formation (and every Xaverian) not to lose sight of the charism, since a strong vocational identity can only strengthen the sense of belonging to the Xaverian Family, and qualify the missionary service that the Congregation is offering.
The mission ad gentes, ad extra and ad vitam is the essential reference point: the first proclamation must also reposition our initial and ongoing formation. This is what constitutes us as intercultural communities gathered around a shared project; therefore, what has value is not this or that culture, but each one of us is driven solely by the love of Christ to proclaim and bear witness to the Gospel. The role of the formator – minister of vocation – consists in helping our young candidates to verify, purify, make clear and build the motivations of the call. This is the great contribution that the formator can offer to the formation and fostering of a healthy Xaverian fraternity (Family), the best gift that we can offer to the Mission.
We are publishing the ACTS of this meeting in a more simple (and economic) edition: two booklets that contain almost all the interventions. It is made available to all, in the hope that the Congregation never forgets that … the formation of Xaverians, inspired by the Spirit, is a collective task involving the entire Institute, the family, the parish, the school, the social milieu and, especially, the students in formation and their formators (C. 57).
