Manila, 15 August, 2018 -
On this third day, we welcomed Fr. Giuliano, the Delegate Superior of the Chinese Delegation. The first part of the morning session was consecrated to the sharing of our journeys into small groups. We then gathered for a plenary session helped by the facilitators from the Emmaus Center.
The afternoon session we were given inputs on celibacy, human, affective and emotional competence. Later in the evening, we gathered with the theology community students for the Eucharist and recreation.
Manila, 16 August, 2018 -
During the morning session, we discussed the topic of loneliness in the priesthood and the different categories and forms of loneliness that might experience as well as the signs of pathological loneliness. The afternoon session was dedicated to group activities and sharing of insights and experiences of loneliness in our first assignments as young missionaries.
In the evening, the Xaverian Philosophy students joined us for the Holy Mass presided over by the Bishop of Novaliches, Most Rev. Antonio R. Tobias, D.D. In his homily, Bishop Antonio Tobias spoke of how he moved from being a "frustrated missionary" to becoming a promotor of mission consciousness. That's why the task for promoting missionary consciousness in his diocese is entrusted to the Xaverian Missionaries.

Both the morning and the afternoon sessions of the fifth day were consecrated to the sharing of our missionary experiences. Then the facilitators from the Emmaus Center presented a synthesis of what we have been doing during these days of ongoing formation. They reminded us that ongoing formation is and should be one of the main activities of a missionary, which will allow us to continue the missionary journey living and loving as Xaverian Missionaries; this entails listening and journeying with God's Word (Cf. John 4:10-14). Afterward, Fr. Fabien thanked the facilitators on behalf of the General Direction. We put an end to this first week of our gathering with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided over by Fr. Ramon Masculino.
