Per far conoscere e amare con semplicità ed immediatezza il dono della beatificazione dei 4 martiri della Repubblica Democratica del Congo avvenuta il 18 agosto 2024 a Uvira, il nostro confratello p. Giuseppe Dovigo ha preparato (con l’aiuto del confratello p. Carlos Eduardo Reynoso Tostado) per ciascuno di loro un piccolo poster mettendo in risalto in maniera distintiva alcuni elementi del volto umano e della spiritualità missionaria. Alcune brevi citazioni rendono la presentazione colorita, facile da ricordare e coinvolgente.
Padre Giovanni Didoné è il beato Dinamico come il fuoco. “Il mio posto è nella missione più lontana ed estesa… Amerei andare dove si deve iniziare il bel tutto.”
Fratel Vittorio Faccin è il beato Buono come il pane. È il religioso fratello al servizio di tutti che si fa pane eucaristico: “Gesù mi ha fatto capire che è meglio che sia io sacrificato a lui, che Lui immolarsi nelle mie mani.”
Padre Luigi Carrara è il beato Vicino a Dio come un angelo. Il papà Giuseppe testimonia: “A lui sembrava di vivere il suo ideale: essere vicino a Dio. Restava ammirato di tutte le meraviglie del creato e sapeva trovare un pensiero buono in ogni circostanza, anche negli imprevisti…”
Padre Albert Joubert è il beato Fratello di tutti come ponte fra popoli diversi: figlio del capitano francese Joubert e di mamma africana Agnès, ha saputo vivere e riunire, nell’accoglienza fraterna, le due diverse culture, occidentale e africana.
In order to spread knowledge about and love for the gift of the 4 martyrs’ beatification that took place in Uvira, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on August 18th, 2024, our confrere Fr. Giuseppe Dovigo has prepared (with the help of our confrere Fr. Carlos Eduardo Reynoso Tostado) a small poster for each of them. In a simple but effective manner, the posters highlight distinctive elements of the martyrs’ humanity and missionary spirituality. The addition of few short quotations makes these presentations colourful, easy to remember and engaging.
Father John Didoné is dynamic as fire. "My place is in the farthest and most extensive mission.... I would love to go where all must start from scratch".
Brother Vittorio Faccin is the kind-hearted (“as good as bread”). He is the religious brother that, in the service of all, becomes Eucharistic bread: “Jesus made me understand that it is better that I sacrifice myself to Him, rather than He sacrifices Himself in my hands.”
Father Luigi Carrara is the one close to God like an angel. In talking about the son, his dad Giuseppe said: “He was sure of living out his ideal: to stay near God. He was amazed at all the wonders of creation and knew how to see the positive in any circumstance, even in the midst of predicaments…”
Father Albert Joubert is a brother to all, a bridge between different peoples: he was the son of French captain Joubert and African lady Agnès. He was able to live and unite in his person two different cultures: the western and African cultures.
