History recognizes that from the dawn of Christianity to the present day, many Christians have suffered persecution for the Gospel, as Jesus himself had announced: "if they persecuted me, they will also persecute you" (Jn 15:20).

The Xaverian Martyrs died for the faith. In their death they showed themselves to be authentic missionaries until the end. At that time their mission was not expressed in apostolic activities. The mission was expressed particularly as passion.

Through this simple activity, let us remember together these brothers and sisters of ours, martyrs passionate about Christ and the Gospel!
