"Se il Signore non costruisce la casa, invano si affaticano i costruttori" (Salmo 126)
Carissimi confratelli,
al termine del XVII Capitolo Generale voglio rivolgervi un cordiale e fraterno saluto. Lo faccio a nome mio e a nome dei confratelli del consiglio generale.
Saluto in modo particolare i nostri confratelli anziani e ammalati che sono nelle differenti comunità saveriane e i nostri giovani confratelli che sono nella formazione di base, presenti nei quattro continenti dove ci troviamo.
Ringrazio il Signore nostro Dio per lo svolgimento di questa assemblea capitolare. E' stato un momento forte di fraternità, di condivisione e di ricerca di quello che lo Spirito Santo vuole dirci a noi, missionari saveriani, in questo momento preciso della nostra storia.
Il Capitolo Generale è terminato. Fra non molto i documenti elaborati saranno a disposizione di tutti. Il nostro augurio è che siano dei documenti normativi per la vita delle circoscrizioni. Perciò, i confratelli capitolari sono i primi incaricati a farli conoscere e a spiegarli; tutti noi poi dobbiamo accoglierli fiduciosi che è il Signore che ci parla attraverso di essi.
ll consiglio generale si troverà a Roma all'inizio di Ottobre. Nel frattempo p. Fabien Kalehezo farà un viaggio andata-ritorno nelle Filippine ed io in Cameroun-Tchad.
Ringrazio i confratelli capitolari per la fiducia riposta in noi. Allo stesso tempo, ci affidiamo alla vostra preghiera. Siamo persone umane con le nostre qualità e i nostri limiti. Insieme, accompagnati dal nostro padre fondatore, san Guido Maria Conforti, e da tutti i nostri confratelli che ci hanno preceduto in questi 122 anni della nostra piccola e bella storia, continuiamo a camminare per le strade dove il Signore ci ha messi, con la gioia nel nostro cuore di sentirci amati e quindi scelti dal Signore nostro Dio per una missione così grande e bella: collaborare all'avvento del Regno di Dio, attraverso lo specifico del nostro carisma saveriano.
“Molte persone piccole, facendo delle cose piccole in luoghi piccoli, sono delle grandi persone”.
Sia da tutti conosciuto e amato nostro Signore Gesù Cristo!

"Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain" (Ps 126)
Dear brothers,
at the end of the XVII General Chapter I wish to send you cordial and fraternal greetings, also on behalf of the confreres of the General Council.
I send a special greeting to our elderly and sick confreres in the various Xaverian communities, and to our young confreres in initial formation on the four continents in which we are working.
I thank the Lord for this General Chapter assembly. It was an intense experience of fraternity, sharing and an effort to understand what the Holy Spirit is asking of us, as Xaverian missionaries, at this specific time in our history.
The General Chapter has ended and the Documents will soon be made available to all. Our hope is that they will be received as normative documents for the life of the Circumscriptions. Therefore, it is the primary responsibility of the confreres who attended the Chapter to make them known and to explain them; all of us must then welcome them with trust that it is the Lord who is speaking to us through them.
The General Council will be in Rome at the beginning of October. In the meantime, Fr. Fabien Kalehezo will travel to the Philippines and I will travel to Cameroon-Chad before returning to Rome.
I thank the Chapter Delegates for the trust they have placed in us. At the same time, we entrust ourselves to your prayers. We are human beings with our good qualities and our defects. Together, accompanied by our Father and Founder, St. Guido Maria Conforti, and by all our confreres whom have gone before us in these 122 years of our modest and beautiful history, we will continue our journey along the path on which the Lord has placed us, with the joy that is in our hearts because we are loved and chosen by God for such a great and beautiful mission: to collaborate in the coming of God’s Kingdom through the specific contribution of our Xaverian charism.
“Many little people, doing little things in little places, are great people”.
May our Lord Jesus Christ be known and loved by all!
