DIREZIONE GENERALE
Dal 18 al 31 gennaio P. Vicario e P. Antonio López sono in Spagna per il Convegno degli Animatori Vocazionali di Spagna, Italia, Regno Unito, Delegazione Centrale e Stati Uniti.
La Direzione Generale ritiene urgente dare enfasi e priorità all’animazione vocazionale soprattutto in quelle Circoscrizioni che in questi ultimi tempi, per diversi motivi, fanno più fatica a mantenere il passo.
SIERRA LEONE
P. Generale e P. E. Pulcini dal giorno 10 sono a Makeni. Hanno scritto: «La città, notevolmente migliorata nelle infrastrutture, sta vivendo un momento socialmente particolare, a motivo della epidemia di Ebola. Sabato pomeriggio e tutta la domenica, sembra deserta: i negozi sono chiusi e le varie attività sono proibite.
La Celebrazione Eucaristica nella parrocchia S. Guido M. Conforti è stata vivace, pur notando un calo numerico di partecipazione, sempre causato dallo stesso motivo. L'Amministratore Apostolico della Diocesi, P. N. Paganelli, ci ha notificato che sta per arrivare un laboratorio per la diagnostica dell'Ebola, finanziato dalla CEI per interessamento del Prof. Colizzi dell'Università di Roma Tor Vergata. Il laboratorio servirà poi per la diagnostica delle varie forme di epatite. Sembra che questa epidemia stia piano piano diminuendo: sarebbe finalmente la fine di un penoso e grave lungo periodo per questo Paese».

La comunità di Holliston ha iniziato una serie di mini-ritiri, che si tengono nel santuario, dedicati alla missione ad gentes. P. Puopolo e P. Chudy hanno iniziato presentando il contributo del Vaticano II e il ruolo Cattolico in un mondo religiosamente diverso.
Stiamo organizzando una conferenza, della durata di un giorno, sul dialogo tra atei, umanisti e credenti, alla Rutgers University insieme all’American Humanist Association, nello stato del New Jersey, da tenersi in autunno del 2015. 18-31 Jan: The Vicar General and Fr. Antonio will be in Spain for the Meeting of the Vocation Animators of Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Central Delegation and United States of America. The General Direction believes it is urgently necessary to stress and give priority to Vocation Animation, especially in the Circumscriptions that recently, and for different reasons, have been finding it difficult to carry out this work
SIERRA LEONE
The Superior General and Fr. E. Pulcini write from Makeni: «On 10 January we arrived in the Regional House. The infrastructures of the city have been considerably improved, though it is experiencing all the problems connected with the Ebola epidemic. From Saturday afternoon through the whole of Sunday, the city seemed deserted: shops were closed and various other activities were forbidden. The Eucharistic celebration in the parish of St. Guido M. Conforti was lively, though there was a visible reduction in the number of people present. The Apostolic Administrator of Makeni Diocese, Fr. N. Paganelli, informed us that they will soon have a laboratory for the diagnosis of Ebola, which has been financed by the Italian Bishops’ Conference, thanks to an intervention by Prof. Colizzi of the Tor Vergata University in Rome. The same laboratory will also be able to diagnose the various forms of hepatitis. It seems that this epidemic is slowly diminishing and this would finally bring to an end a long and distressing period for this country».
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Community of Holliston began a series of mini-retreats on our shrine dedicated to the mission ad gentes of the Church. Fr. Pupolo and Chudy began with the contribution of Vatican II and the Catholic role in a religiously diverse world.
We are organizing a day long conference on dialogue among atheists, humanists, and religious believers at Rutgers University together with the American Humanist Association in the state of New Jersey for the fall of 2015.
