Parma, 11 settembre: nella cornice di una splendida giornata di sole ha avuto luogo l'annuale Festa dei Benefattori dell'Emilia che gravitano su PR. Il P. Generale ha presieduto l'Eucaristia e offerto poi una panoramica sulla vita dell'Istituto nel mondo. Il P. Fabrizio Tosolini ha presentato i cinque nuovi studenti neoprofessi, arrivati a Parma. Clima di fraternità e amicizia.
USA
Rugters University, 8 ottobre: P. Carl Chudy e Mary Aktay (direttrice ufficio provinciale comunicazioni) hanno lavorato su un progetto di dialogo con l’American Humanist Association. Insieme hanno organizzato una conferenza sugli Elementi Condivisi. Sono intervenuti 12 oratori di tradizione umanista e interreligiosa, insieme a piccoli gruppi di lavoro sui temi più attuali. Vi hanno partecipato 120 persone.
Worcester, Our Lady of Providence Church, 10 ottobre: la sorella Saveriana Miranda Jiménez ha fatto la Professione Perpetua alla presenza delle sorelle, di alcuni confratelli e molti amici.
INDONESIA
Padang, 10 – 11 Ottobre: la parrocchia di S. Pietro Claver ha ospitato un incontro di circa 130 giovani Professionisti Cattolici della Diocesi di Padang, organizzato dalla Commissione Giovani su “Fede – Carriera – Fidanzamento”, temi importanti e sentiti dai giovani Cattolici. I nostri giovani di Bukittingi si sono distinti nella preparazione dell’Incontro.
13 Ott.: giovani fondamentalisti mussulmani hanno incendiato la chiesa Protestante Di Aceh-Sinkil (Nord di Sumatra). chiedono al governo di abbattere altre dieci chiese, inclusa una cattolica che, secondo loro, sono state costruite senza permesso. La situazione a Bukittingi (Sumatra Ovest) ed in altri posti dove svolgiamo la nostra attività è calma; siamo preoccupati e preghiamo per una maggiore tolleranza religiosa e libertà sia in Indonesia che in tutto il mondo.
REGNO UNITO
Il nuovo anno all’Istituto Conforti è iniziato con tante attività. La collaborazione con La Voce dei Poveri”, organizzato dalla Signora Clara Parra, appartenente alla Società di S. Vincenzo, ha ottenuto grande successo.
John e Jim continuano ad offrire corsi di spiritualità ai detenuti. Hanno anche organizzato un fine settimana per i volontari assistenti dei detenuti. Inoltre, ospiteremo il Gen Verde, un gruppo internazionale femminile, che sta esibendosi nelle diocesi di Motherwell e Glasgow.

Parma, 11 Sep: the sun shone on the annual Feast of Benefactors of the Emilia region. The Superior General presided over the Eucharist and spoke of the Institute’s work throughout the world. Fr. Fabrizio Tosolini presented the five newly professed students who arrived in Parma.
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Rugters University, 8 Oct: Fr. Carl Chudy and Mary Aktay (communications director of the province) worked on a dialogue project with the American Humanist Association and organized a common ground conference with 12 speakers from the humanist and interreligious traditions, along with some workshops on the most pressing current issues. 120 people took part.
Worcester, Our Lady of Providence Church, 10 Oct: the Xaverian Sister Miranda Jiménez made her Final Profession in the presence of the sisters, some confreres and many friends.
INDONESIA
Padang, 10 – 11 Oct: the parish of St. Peter Claver hosted a meeting of 130 young Catholic professionals of the Diocese. The meeting was organized by the Youth Commission on “Faith – Career – Courtship”. Our youth of Bukittingi took an active part in the preparation of the meeting.
13 Oct: some fundamentalist young Muslims set ablaze a Protestant church in Aceh Singkil (North Sumatra). They are demanding that the government demolish ten other churches, including a Catholic church, which, they say, were built without permits. The situation in Bukittingi (West Sumatra) and other places where we are present is calm, yet we remain watchful and pray for a greater religious tolerance and liberty in Indonesia and the entire world.
UNITED KINGDOM
Conforti Institute: the new year began with a variety of activities. Our work with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's youth organizer, Clare Carr, through The Voice of the Poor conferences, have been a great success.
Hugh, Jim and John continue their Prison Spirituality courses and hosted a weekend for prison mentor volunteers. We are also hosting Gen Verde, the international all women band, which is performing in the dioceses of Motherwell and Glasgow.
