Domenica 10 dicembre 2023, ricorrerà il 75° anniversario dell’adozione della Dichiarazione universale dei diritti umani. Un testo basilare per le Nazioni Unite, ideato sulle ceneri della Seconda guerra mondiale per riconoscere universalmente diritti e libertà fondamentali di ogni persona. Tra guerre, negazione del diritto fondamentale alla libertà religiosa, la situazione delle donne e dei minori, la difficoltà per i bambini nell’accesso all’istruzione, i disastri ambientali, le emergenze…, c’è il rischio concreto che i diritti umani non solo vengano calpestati o negati, ma anche che passino in secondo piano.

Sunday, December 10^th, 2023, will mark the 75^th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is a fundamental text of the United Nations that, on the ashes of World War II, thought of universally recognizing the fundamental rights and freedoms of every person. Considering the persistent wars, the negation of the fundamental right to religious freedom, the situation of women and minors, children’s difficult access to education, environmental disasters, emergencies, and so on, there emerges a real risk that human rights will not only be trampled upon or denied, but also be overshadowed.
